Typical chain café. Same (good quality) coffee and treats as in every single Costa store. Fine shelter if U have to wait for a train and would like not to spent a priceless minutes of your life on terrible Southampton Central Station.

I often go before work after getting off of the train. It is the best Costa I visit. Staff are friendly, fast and the coffee is great, even when very busy. Relaxing atmosphere makes it perfect before work

Came in here a little while ago to get a quick take away coffee. I had my dog with me (small, jack russell cross), she is very well behaved and trained, was on a leash and sat next to me while I was ordering at the till. The young gentleman who was serving me didn't say anything and got on with making my order. Suddenly another staff member appered and in a very rude manner told me I need to leave the shop imiedietly, because I have my dog with me. I pointed out that there was no information on the front of the shop not allowing to take a dog inside, there was nothing outside the shop to tie the leash to and that the other staff member who took my order didn't say anything about that, not to mention I wasn't planning on sitting in and on this point my order was nearly ready. In response this person told me that they are the shops manager and I need to leave without my order and proceeded to on this point shout and insult me which I think was not only unnessesery ,but unacceptable. I left and stood outside angry (and without a coffee I paid for ) when the young guy who took my order run outside to give me my order and apologise for the entire situation. Needless to say I will not come back as frankly it was a horrible experience, junior staff members should never have to apologise for the actions of a shop menager and it's just overall shame as I used to come to different Costa shops, but this situation left a bitter taste and I would rather spend my money elsewhere.
