Cosy little place the food is mainly homemade and tasty. Prices are very reasonable . I had toasted sandwiches which were tasty and nicely served with a side salad and crisps. Good choice of foods on the menu hot and cold .....however, they do not take cards and there are no customer toilets The cafe is clean and the staff very pleasant
Got some lovely, freshly prepared rolls from the shop, crammed full of filling, just what was required
Although the food was very good and reasonably priced, unfortunately the service was poor. The waitress didn't return to customers who had finished their main courses. We had planned on having a sweet but after waiting for at least 10 minutes and seeing the waitress texting on her phone, we decided to leave. Unfortunate, as we did enjoy the food.
A cafe I am happy to keep coming back to in Alnwick. We both went for the full English breakfast this time and it was spot on! Everything that you'd expect from a Northern cafe. The hot lunches are unmissable if you are in the area and the desserts and cakes always look great too. The drinks are good quality teas and coffees and they give you a decent serving as well. Highly recommended, charming place.
Me and my wife had lunch here today. Unfortunately, neither the service nor the food nor the décor was up to scratch. We weren't the only ones disappointed in the place - nearly everyone in there seemed to leave dissatisfied. I can only assume the owners are lazy or do not care.
Hmmmm a tad disappointed, food was ok, it's cafe after all. But service was poor, attitude wrong, come on girl's, chat to your customers, smile wouldn't go a miss bad day perhaps...No customer toilet?? Why??
Excellent place to eat, had the giant Yorkshire pudding with mince and onions with mashed potatoes and peas and carrots. Friendly staff the food served red hot especially great on winters day in alnwick.
Food is fine but waitress service was terrible! A smile - even just one - would've been nice. And maybe a word or two when food was brought to the table??!
