Copper

About

Welcome to Copper Cafe Mapperley, the sister venue of Copper in West Bridgford. Serving breakfast, lunch & evening menu, coffees, afternoon tea and more.

Story

Copper By Day
Our doors open early for our comprehensive breakfast menu as well as teas, coffees and juices. Our entire breakfast menu is available to eat in or takeaway until noon. We then serve a wide variety of food and drink throughout the day and complement our menu with an extensive wine list as well as cocktails, imported beers and a traditional ale in conjunction with the LocAle scheme. Traditional "afternoon tea” is served until 7pm and we also serve many speciality teas and coffees. To the front of our main doors is a heated and covered "pavement café” seating area where you can watch the world go by, the seating faces south so remember to prepare for the sun on nice days.
Free WiFi is available to all our customers

Copper By Night
By night Copper becomes a comfortable bar serving a range of beers, wines and our own signature cocktail menu. For those feeling peckish nibbles and snacks are available and weekends see the Upstairs lounge move over to waitress service and specialise in cocktails, wines and champagne.

Lovely place inside with nice decor, we ordered eggs florentine and an all day breakfast.nEggs were not runny at all but tasted nice, breakfast was nice, beans could have been warmer and in all fairness I’d have liked more beans.nCoffee was excellent !!nWould I come back again ?nSorry but not for me this time.
Our first visit, but it won't be our last. Good food - We had the fishcake ciabatta and lattes. Both were excellent, as were the chips.nFriendly staff and comfortable seats. Well worth a visit.
Early evening visit for myself and the wife. Unfortunately the veggie burger was not on due to a shortage of brioche buns try the Coop next door, so I had the Buddha Bowl and the wife had the Scampi. Both dishes arrived quickly and were well presented and quite tasty. Service was really good and the meals, I thought were good value.

I've been going to Copper on Mapperley Top since it opened, I understand it's recently changed ownership which might explain why the level of service and quality of food has changed so drastically. I ordered brown toast with jam and a sausage cob, I was told there'd be a wait as the kitchen was just opening 11am. The staff then came to tell me there were no sausages as the chef had forgotten to defrost them. All not a problem, until they bought out white toast instead of brown and a bacon cob with a very burnt cob, not just the top layer over toasted, as I first thought, but a deep burnt layer right into the cob. Why would the chef send that out? A member of staff came out to ask if everything was OK with the food, we showed her, but she didn't do anything.
