Fantastic find. Excellent quality meat and not too expensive. We were lucky enough to be able to share one of the Tomahawk Steaks. It was cooked to perfection, beautifully seasoned, fat had been nicely rendered down, meat pink and juicy, everything edible except the bone of course. The sides were equally good. Sweet potato fries, chunky chips and, I've never been a fan of mac & cheese, at least that was until I visited Coopers Grill, its fantastic, light and fluffy, nicely seasoned. We opted for the peppercorn sauce, which was amazing and also had the bourbon sauce, which for me was slightly too strong flavoured for the steak. There was nothing wrong with the bourbon sauce, it was just that the meat was so flavoursome, it was a shame to mask that awesome flavour and quality with a strong sauce. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is that I think front of house needs a little more training on their product and how meat is served dependent on how you've asked for it to be cooked and it was very hot in the restaurant. Admittedly, we are having a proper summer this year but it was uncomfortable dining in such temperatures. It is an old listed building which is why they don't have air con, but I am sure there are other solutions possible to them. Other than that, top notch and strongly recommend this place for a high quality meal.

Great carvery on a Sunday. Really good value for money. Seating can be a bit squashed together sometimes.
They have a large sign outside, with cakes as the first item mentioned see my photo, so I hoped they might have mid afternoon offerings like coffee & cake, as many places do. But they said they don't have cake, with a tone suggesting it was my mistake to ask for it. Even now, weeks after I called in, the sign is still there, despite it being misleading. While I was there I looked at the menu to see if anything else was of interest but, no, everything seems very expensive. If you are happy paying inflated gastro pub prices then maybe this place is OK but I was not impressed. It's rare the car park looks very full so I wonder how long it will last, and where do all the five star reviews come from if relatively few people frequent the place?
