DO NOT USE THIS VETS IF YOU HAVE A DOG. I have never left a online review before but our experience this morning was so dreadful I feel I have to warn potential patients. Despite booking an appointment with a vet we were unknowingly given a nurse called Clare Wannell. Obviously terrified of our big dog, Clare had no idea of what previous vaccinations she had received - despite having her notes in front of her. When looking at our really nervous pup she failed to give her an injection because Mabel jumped as she put the needle in. She then suggested doing it in another room where he colleague can help her. After a good deal of heartbreaking whining from our dog she brought Mabel back in on a choke lead, despite her having a harness on. They had muzzled her without our permission and claimed she was trying to bite them. Mabel has never ever bitten anyone and especially not at the vets where she loves the attention. I later read that Clare Wannell is a bird specialist. So I have NO IDEA what she was doing with the dogs when she clearly has absolutely no idea what she is doing.

Just got a puppy! The staff are kind and understanding with your self's and your pets! Most of the complaints you read and hear are mostly because they had a vet bill and feel they been ripped off! They just are not bothered about the right care of there animals, all you gotta do is speak to the vet or staff on the desk and explain you have money problems! If you buy a pet its gonna cost you a arm and leg! If you can't afford to pay the bill for your pet you shouldn't have one! Its as simple as that! For your pet to get really ill you should see you vet right away! Not a few weeks later! Is that what you do with your self's when you poorly??? You don't move out of your family home leaving your mother or father looking after your pet cuz you can't! Give it to someone who can love it better than you! Some retards make me angry reading there complaints! Do you not think the vet has a hard job! I think there amazing they don't no how your pet is feeling and can never be 100% correct with what's wrong with any pet cuz its not like they can tell us! But they do there best! So before to put a one star rate how about think about who's in the wrong here! Its not the vet!! Your lucky they even can be bothered to help as much as they do! I'm very happy to be apart of pets at home vets! And thank you for helping my puppy start her new life 😁

My parents took my ferret Charlie to this vet (I couldn't as I live in Scotland while my ferrets live with my parents in Devon) as he wasn't eating much anymore, hardly moved and was vomiting sometimes. The vet offered to do an x-ray as he found a lump or something like it..It was a very expensive x-ray to which I agreed to be done as I cared only for my ferret to get better. After x-ray they said they could not find what was wrong with the ferret so said there is no need for surgery to be done! They gave my parents some medication which should be given to my ferret for a week. Next appointment was scheduled for Wed a week later. Over weekend my ferret got even worse as he was not eating at all and was vomiting, on Mon he was not even drinking anymore, so my parents got to the vet as soon as they could as it was an emergency and we knew he might and won't survive till Wed when the next appointment was booked. Lady at the reception said it is not possible to do it that day as it is too busy etc and said to come next day! Which was outrageous as the time was so important! Charlie was running out of time - next day (Tue) a few hours before the appointment he died!! I am so disappointed with this vet as they took loads of money from us and did not actually help a bit! They made my ferret to suffer for another horrible week and my parents to watch all that! I hope Chris (the vet) and any other of you in the clinic won't ever get to this situation and I hope if you read this - you will think about how you made us feel! And no need for you to say sorry as the lady in the reception did over the phone when I called to cancel the appointment as that would never change my opinion about this clinic and you all - you can stick your apology ... where the sun does not shine! I am not quite sure how you prioritise your clients and how you deal with emergency situations! Same as the day when the x-ray took place, I first was told it will be done by lunch time, which of course did not happen, then it was said to be done by half 2 or 3, which also did not happen.. This is the worst vet I have ever have had to deal with, NEVER AGAIN!
