This just didn't appeal to me and my wife. If you like events with Morris Dancers, men with beards, and women spinning wool and running the tea room, then maybe it will appeal to you more. £7.50 entry is expensive in my opinion - there was a mention of doing your own forging but that would have been an additional £10 and no one was even doing it. We've previously had fascinating discussions with people running restored steam engines (at different places) so I expected something a bit more engaging.

Worth a visit, but pick your days carefully. 3rd Sunday in each month is steam day.

Fantastic place, with so much heritage. People so friendly and informative. Lovely little tea room by the river. Thank you Les for all the interesting history you told us about today. Well worth a visit

Combe mill is a hidden gem, providing a number of hours entertainment for the family. Apart from the working beam engine, there is a forge where blacksmiths help visitors (including children) make pokers. I'm not sure I have met anywhere else that allows this, especially since the onset of the PC and H&S cultures. Long may it continue!
