We came here to get away from the fireworks for our dog, and it's been totally quiet, not a pop or whizz to be heard or seen... absolutely worth every penny! The lodge is wonderful! Clean, fresh, and comfortable! Views are amazing too anfcghe short walk to the Loch is beautiful! We're going to try and get a table for dinner in the barn tonight and fully trust our fantastic visit will continue.. thank you !!!!! WOW !! AMAZING!!!! Rooms: Beautifully furnished, bright, clean and above all comfortable. Food & drinks: What can I say?? Go to the barn!!! Words cannot describe how good it is.
Hidden away in its own wee glen. The best dog friendly family retreat just outside of Oban, the Seafood Capital of Scotland. There is a rustic bar serving great pub food and good criac during the busy season.
All necessities are available in the cottage, and any problems are handled as quickly as possible. The location is gorgeous and serene. The adorable litte wild songbirds on the park aren't too shy either, and add to the atmosphere of the location. Fantastic hiking grounds as well, with access to a beautiful forest trail or the surrounding hills. The barn bar on the park serves great food and has friendly staff. The park is also only a few minutes by car from the beautiful Historic Kilbride, and only about 4 miles from Oban.
Very comfortable lodges, each having an exclusive outlook and enjoying a secluded aspect. The Barn staff are terrific and there are grand options to explore the surrounding area.Rooms: 5/5
Warm and very comfortable lodge, with everything you need provided. The shower worked well and we were very happy with the condition of everything. It was the chalet closest to the Barn bar too, so we didn't have far to walk, after the delicious meal we had there. I would definitely recommend a stay here

Way overpriced for what you get. One hand towel for 4 people for 3 nights! Mirrors in completely unusable places in bedrooms. Two toilet rolls for 4 adults for 3 days. Wine glasses - no two the same size in a lodge for 4 people. Dishes all different sizes and patterns. Shower in bath broken - would not stay up. All metal accessories and parts of shower and screen corroded. No basics like a salt dish - who takes salt on holiday even to self catering. No tea bags, coffee, milk which in most self catering is a given. No shop until Oban to buy these things if you do not realise they will not be provided. No hairdryer - again a standard in most self catering nowadays. More explicit listing required on website of what is and isn't provided required.
Have stayed at cologin a few times previously in the lodges & was lucky enough to spend last week in Cruachan Cottage. All have been excellent, it's a gorgeous peaceful place especially in the sunshine & I always come back feeling refreshed & relaxed. We ate and drank 3 nights in the Barn & sampled most of the menu between the four of us &, all was superb & we left fit to burst every time. The team bothJulie & Angus in the Barn & Katie the Manager @ Cologin could not have been more helpful. I am organising a special family occasion there in the summer & I cannot wait to come back. It's my happy place. Highly, highly recommended and a well earned & deserved 10/10 from me!
Thuouraly enjoyed my stay at the farm house. The house was clean and tidy. Well worth the price. Some lovely walks around with the dogs. Would definitely recommend. Would have even better if the bar next door was open. covid related.
Perfect place for a couple's week getaway. Great chalet/lodge with plenty of kitchen equipment to allow us to cook most evenings and the barn bar is great if you don't want to!. Plenty of space for the living area too, very clean and a great location, with a few good walks and fantastic views starting here. Came for the first week away this year and we've not been to this side of Scotland together before although it turns out I visited here in the late 1990s but didn't realise until arriving and recognising the place! Added bonus of the free and very reliable electric vehicle charge point made the week even better, meaning use of it several times. Overall a great place to visit if you're looking for somewhere to stay near Oban
