Excellent Sunday roast at this pub. Good value and lots of food. We had beef and chicken with cauliflower cheese side.
We didn't book and they were very busy and still managed to squeeze us in - even allowing us to move tables when one became free as we were a bit close to the door and it was cold outside. Our meals were delicious and arrived quickly. Excellent portions - really impressed with the vegetarian options - the curry was amazing and so nice it came with a whole slice of naan bread. We have been lots before and I have always enjoyed my experience. Thank you
Great place with good food, excellent selection of desserts highly recommend sticky toffee pudding! and decent play area for kids. Spacious, clean toilets, very friendly stuff.
Thought I’d try this place and meet a friend from work as it’s local and I hadn’t ventured inside yet. I must admit though i was glad I did! Not only did they provide a very warm heating on, on a cold wet day! environment, the bar staff greeted us with smiles and a friendly manner. Very impressed to see Beavertown Neck Oil on tap, this alone would bring me back! Haven’t had the opportunity to try the food yet, but noticed they cater for a variety of dietary requirements, although would be nice to see another vegan main or a burger on the menu. However the food I did see other customers enjoying appeared well presented and hot too. I’m surprised it’s taken me 18 months to get in to visit this welcoming and friendly pub, I shall certainly be back and recommend to others.
This is our regular local where we eat, drink and occasionally participate in the quiz on a Sunday evening. The food and drink is of good quality and value and the staff and management are always helpful and tentative to your needs. As welcoming and hospitable as a local pub should be. Well done guys, keep up the good work!
Went in for a boxing day meal, the whole three courses were delicious and value for money, staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. We were not rushed and overall a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. The only thing negative I would say is surroundings looking a bit tired, it could do with being modernised.

Quite busy when we arrived and not sure where to go as we'd booked our table online. Fortunately one of your staff asked if anyone had booked and showed us to our table. Went to the bar to order our food and drinks with no problem and the staff member was courteous and positive. Wait for food was shorter than we were warned 30 mins as they were busy but the food arrived well presented and hot. Enough variety on the menu for a night out and reasonable priced.
Thank you to the whole team for a fabulous Christmas day lunch. The food was excellent, the waiting staff were friendly & attentive and at no point did we feel rushed either in between courses or after we had finished our food. Happy Christmas. Table 17 2pm booking.
My friend and I popped in for dinner and ordered two steaks. One steak was raw rather than rare inside, the other very gristly. I know that sometimes this happens so wasn't cross but spoke to a member of staff- he didn't seem to care at all and was quite dismissive. Previous visits had always been great so was rather surprised by this
