A death in the family is a horrendously hard thing to cope with and you look forward (if that can be said) to giving your loved one the send off they deserve. Your choice of funeral director can't always be lead by experience and needs to be lead by reputation. We chose to visit Co-op Doncaster to complete the journey and arrived as the office had just opened at 9am. Given that the office door was open and so was their business to hear laughter and giggles from the inner office was not a good start, that door should have been closed. Someone in the office did tell them to shush but they didn't head their request. There was no welcome saying sorry for your loss, the guy was pleasant enough though. The lady that dealt with us seemed to have very few details to hand and had to keep going out of the room. We were told that the cremation would be at their say so because we wanted a simple service. A very amateurish meeting altogether and left us feeling worse than when we went in. Will not be using nor recommending to anyone. We have chosen another small local firm and the difference beyond the two was enormous. Do some mystery shopping Co-op to see how it ought to be done with dignity and respect. Following the brand isn't always the way to do things.
