Really glad I found this place for my classic mini. Excellent expertise, advice and communication throughout. Everything was fully costed and communicated with me before I decided to go ahead. Until I found this place I suspected my car was being serviced and MOT’d by people who had no idea what to check for when I asked them to make it as safe as possible and I was right. Vladimir showed me all the findings from the full health check when my car was on the ramp and through photographs through email and text. I now feel much safer in my 1991 mini Mayfair knowing it’s been treated with care by experts. My new wheels look great on it too. Many Thanks to the full team! Jennie
Not the place to discuss in depth my problems with Clydesdale Classics. Suffice to say I would not recommend them. Shame as they were pleasant and knowledgeable. With some " amateur " work on MY part to the brakes, steering and fan the car managed the 900 mile round trip to the Silverstone Classic last weekend to meet back up with the marques F3000 car from the 90's, and not a wheel trim fell off!.......see photos of my amateurish stuff attached. I see on facebook they were hoping I would return but unfortunately this won't happen. I noted down nine issues , some serious some not so, but all trust was lost I am afraid. Photos attached
Brought a 1972 VW Beetle, broke down on the first day of driving. Spoke with Nicole and she booked me in to diagnose, which they did within 2 hours and had ordered the parts. Being the cynical sort I asked CCC to perform an inspection which discovered many worrying faults with the vehicle beyond what you would expect even from a classic car. Vladimir asked me to come to the garage to show me what he found. Overall the service and communication was excellent, from initial stages to the vehicle being shipped back to the dealer. I wouldn't hesitate to take my classic cars to them in the future. They have potentially not only saved me money, but also from driving a vehicle that was not in a road worthy condition. Massive thanks to Nicole, Vladimir and the team.
A breath of fresh air to find a company from reception to workshop having personnel that are genuinely interested in your classic car. It was truly reassuring to be meticulously guided through the process of assessing defects and prioritising essential to non essential work . A special thanks to Vladimir who kept me appraised of work as it progressed even phoning me after normal working hours a courtesy which I have never experienced from other companies in the past . As my MGB had been garaged for over two years I realised that various work was necessary and from the sourcing of parts to the cost of labour the whole process was completely transparent . Clydesdale Classics will be the only company I will entrust my car to in the future. Keep up the excellent work Graeme Dickson
When I bought my Humber Hawk in September I had it taken pdq to David Mutch for restoration. The business was expanding quickly and following a move to bigger premises in East Kilbride, the Humber was ready for work to start. Sadly my situation changed and with a heavy heart, had to sell the car. David had it quickly cleaned up, advertised and sold within a few weeks. OK it wasn't a restoration job...but a great and cheerful service nevertheless. So whether you want your car restored, or sold - David's your man!
My Triumph Vitesse needed 4 wheel studs and outer hub replacing due to wear and a stud shearing whilst out driving. I considered doing the job myself but don't have a hub puller. Clydesdale Classic Cars had carried out some excellent work for me on my Herald in 2016, so I had no problem in entrusting this job to them. They understood right away what needed to be done as they have previous experience with "Rotoflex" Vitesses. Communication was excellent and went the "Extra Mile" for me in obtaining a chrome wheel nut with correct outer diameter, as the ones that I had ordered, whilst correct on the thread, were too large to get the socket over to tighten, given the recess in the "Revolution" wheels. Once again, excellent work, and I'd recommend Clydesdale Classic Cars to any owner looking for quality work at a reasonable cost. Thanks David, Wullie, Vladimir and the team.
Paid £3000 for work on my 66 mustang. Rust repair carried out on the B post has now resulted in a full warped quarter panel due to poor welding technique. Can was soda blasted which highlighted pin holes in the welds. Also put a new floor in which has resulted in front end now not level. This will probably cost more to fix than I paid Clydesdale classic cars. Happy to provide pictures to anyone who’s thinking of going here
My car broke there today they helped me lot today.. Very competitive staff... Very honest.. Thank you.. Thank you Valdmir..
Would avoid this company at all costs. Had my Corolla in for welding, required new sills and some repairs to the floor and inner sill. Repair bills sky rocket rapidly and the rate the work was being carried out was unreasonable to say the least. This resulted in £2000 for essentially cutting one sill off the O/S Of my car. I pulled the plug on the job as soon as i seen how little they had done for the amount they were charging. I gave them my budget which they did not adhere to and instead blew right through it and kept demanding more and more money from me. I am left with a car without a sill and a job no one wants to touch after they have been near it. I cant even comment on the workmanship as there really was none, i was charged £2000 for cutting a sill off of my car. Poorly managed company ran by inexperienced owners who rely on the knowledge of their mechanics to keep it going whilst the boss talks mince and takes home the big bucks.
