Great Reggae-day/night out at the Clifton for the Culture City Festival. Staff was great, security tight, music pumping, people dancing ... Loved it!
New chef at The Clifton so thought we would try their Carvery. Was pleasantly surprised, their first day and it was gorgeous! If you are in town it definitely worth popping in for a true homemade roast. Large portion and lots to choose from. Friendly staff and plenty of parking.Food: 5/5
Amazing food very fairly priced, extremely tasty and a nice change from typical pub grub, lots of different food styles/ options to suit everyone’s taste from America to Chinese to Indian and some classic British dishes too of course! Nice vibe here, would recommend!Food: 5/5
Only been twice. First time was after city match last game of season. Was ok, nice pint of thatchers. Clean crisp and fresh. 2nd time was Monday. Watched Liverpool Vs villa great atmosphere not too busy. Very friendly, as I didn't know anyone in there. Just wanted to watch the football. But had a great night with the locals. Didn't have any food so can't score it. But I'll definitely go again. Prices if a pint a pretty standard across the city but not the most expensive place I've had a beer
Lovely atmosphere with a friendly landlord. Chris has really turned this pub around and put it back on the Exeter pub scene as a go to pub. Good prices, pool table jukebox and a smashing carvery on a Sunday. Definitely worth a visit if you're near. Will be coming back againFood: 5/5
Nice place. Very nice chef. Not too noisy although there are a couple of TVs. Full menu not available but still something to choose from. I had a nice basic vegetarian meal.
Very lovely little place. Nice and comfortable. Staff changed one of the TVs for the F1 and had another for the play off final!Service: 5/5
Very friendly pub that serves a good pintService: 4/5
Great pub/cafe/bakery. This breakfast pie served with hash browns, fried egg and lovely fresh bread is a delight. The pie and the bread are made on site and from scratch and it was crammed full of sausage, bacon, tomato, beans and mushroom. The pastry is a really excellent short crust that is slightly crumbly but neither soggy or dry. The pub itself its quite recently renovated, the proprietors are very friendly and rightly proud of their fare and it manages to pull off the slightly surreal combination of pub and bakery you can buy cakes, bread and pastries from the bakery counter. I'll be going back to try the dinner pies and also the all-you-can-eat breakfast on Friday mornings for around £7.
A great pub, 3 minute walk from Jury's Inn. Huge. Very welcoming & easy-going staff. Good music played in background. Amazing "fish n chips" meal for £8,35. See photo. Homemade batter. Excellent tarter sauce. Friendly patrons. Thank you, Clifton Inn! Thanx to the chef!
