I would give this company zero stars based on my experience this morning. Made booking several days ago. Called 10 minutes after taxi due to arrive as it had not arrived and was I was relying on it to get to work on time. Advised by Ross that they were still trying to locate a taxi to send to me. Advised time not guaranteed, but this not made time at clear of booking or on the morning in advance of taxi no show. Attitude of call handler unapologetic and dismissive. A very poor experience overall. I will not use this firm again.
A very early morning taxi service to the airport. Gordon was fabulous. Prompt, helpful and really great company - even in the wee hours. Extremely professional and reliable and wouldn’t hesitate to book City Cabs again for an airport run.
I had sign in issues with the app due to having new phone and email and the team at the office worked through it till we got it all sorted. Am happy as I can now book through the app again as usual. Massive thank you to whoever the people were that helped. I also have never yet had an access issue with my assistance dog so that is a bonus point too
Really uncomfortable experience a couple of weeks ago. Driver immediately asked if we had cash or if he wanted us be driven to an ATM. I said, no you take cards. He said no that was a Covid thing and covid is over. I said do you or do you not accept cards. Finally, reluctantly he said he did. At some point along the journey he took a bend rather quickly, and my phone slid off of my lap to the side of the seat. I asked him if his seat pops forward or if it was only accessible from the boot. He said, no, its gone. I said it most certainly is not. Then he told me I was making his night a pain? At this point I was so uncomfortable I asked him to pull over and let us out where we were. He wanted payment immediately, and I said I needed my phone to pay him. I did not, but I was concerned he would drive away with it otherwise. He then opened the boot so I could retrieve my phone, but said “find it yourself” instead of being helpful. It was a very uncomfortable taxi ride to say the least. I don’t know if it was my accent and he assumed I was a tourist, or given the hour if he assumed I was drunk, but I was neither.
These idiots are all unprofessional. Once they see tourists tried to rip them off. They asked me and paid £50 from EDI airport to City centre... I paid for MEET & GREET service - the driver phoned to say come to the car park. No good at all. then once we couldnt find the spot that told us, he seemed to have completely forgotten that he had to pick us up when I called him.Customer service non existent as they didn’t reply to an email I sent more than a week ago
What a rip off these taxis are and when I was in one last week the meter was over £10 before we had even left the airport and it cost £21 for a 5 minute taxi ride. The driver had 2 separate prices on is meter and it seemed that it was around £5 for just getting in the cab and then the meter was going up very quickly. I was complaining about getting ripped off by the taxis in Europe but unfortunately these Edinburgh taxes are a disgrace to Scotland.
CityCabs! The Unicorn of Taxi Services! I had the pleasure of two journeys with them during my Edinburgh adventure, and they were like a breath of fresh Scottish air. Their drivers were so courteous and friendly, I almost forgot I was in a taxi and not on a guided tour of the Royal Mile! If you want to ride in style, hop on a CityCab. They're the kilt-wearing, bagpipe-playing, exemplary service wizards of the taxi world!
Been using City Cabs for years but now Uber is the choice of taxi. Last straw was another no show after a booking that was placed a few hours before we needed the cab via the CityCab app. If a cab wasn't available please let the customer know in advance so alternative options can be looked at.
Booked a cab the previous evening to take me to Waverley to catch a London train at 5:48. The taxi did not arrive, I phoned to ask if it was coming and was told that they had no cab. I missed my train and had to pay £93 for a new ticket. If they had just called me 15mins before I would have got the train. Unreliable and will not be using them again.
