We had a large group gathering on Saturday night at circus restaurant, located in Covent garden with easy excess by underground. Obviously, the place isn’t for a person with “ a great palate “ but more for a great night with food and entertainment . The interior is nice and dynamic prepared for performance , music and food, which is Asian fusion . Staff are very attentive and helpful. Space are limited . We were around 16 old friends to celebrate birthday . The concept was good , we enjoyed ourselves with the acts . Our table was much smaller than expected and we could literally not have enough space to enjoy our food and drinks . We ordered set menus . Food was better than expected but could be improve a lot with a bit more attention and fresh ingredients rather ready made, such as gyoza ! Never seen edamame was served in Ice but a new experience . On all acceptable for average palate . Staff were amazing as well manager . I strongly recommend Circus , if you’re not too fussy about food and can enjoy the ambiance , acts and music . A Gold star to DJ as he was fantastic. I will definitely go back for a memorable night but not recommend to anyone who is expecting "mise en place" ! Nick
Came for a work “Christmas lunch” event, tbh very overpriced and I wasn’t even paying. The starters were brought out one by one dragging out the whole experience which was continually interrupted by “entertainment” in the form of mediocre solo circus performers. The desserts were served in an almighty rush at the end before we were forced to evacuate to make space for the next booking who were herded in before we had barely finished our mouthfuls. Overall the food was fine but the ambience and experience was chaotic and naff.
The live show was outstanding! However most of the menu was not tasty at all. The only thing we loved was the aubergine curry main and the kind prawn appetiser. The “sharing menu” was fixed and highly overpriced for the quantity & quality of food. However the waiters & waitresses were very fast and helpful. I personally would not repeat the experience.
Performances were outstanding but only happened only for 15mins within 2 hours 3acts each for 5min.We went for "sharing menu" , starters were good must try king prawns tempura, main course and desert were not great in taste. Stuffs were very friendly , recommended to visit the place for the different experience.Food: 4/5
Amazing fun vibe. We saw three shows LED hula hoops, fire eating and aerial hoop. Marc was our waiter and he was great : Vegetarian options: Vegan set menu had some interesting dishes
Such a great experience! The shows were incredible, the performers are so strong and mesmerising. The food was nice overall, although the steak lacked flavour. Some salt, pepper and garlic powder would’ve made all the difference as it was cooked well. We didn’t like the edamame beans as they do not have any flavour. I would recommend others to visit Circus.
*Super disabled friendly* I contacted the restaurant well in advance to ask about access as I am on crutches. The staff were so attentive and helpful, I could not have asked for more. They stored my crutches for me off to the side and even fetched them for me if I was going to the toilet. They opened every door for me. All level access. I felt like the queen. Food was lovely. Something outside of my usual experience which was fun and interesting. The acts were very exciting and rather wild. Our waiter Muhammad was really supportive with explaining the menu and very patient with me and my cognitive issues. I'd totally recommend going just for the experience. Thank you guys so much. You really made our honeymoon extra special
The staff were very attentive and quick to serve our food! The venue was amazing and the acts were phenomenal. The food was perfect, salmon cooked exactly how I like it and a good amount of time between each serving. I would highly recommend for a celebration or nice meet up with friends! Will definitely be going back again.
I had high hopes for this place, but the food was awful! The only good thing to say about this place are the circus acts and decor. My group and I were very disappointed with the food: undercooked rice, raw aubergine and burnt poppadoms. For the price of £65 per person and a birthday I would expect alot more. The taste is mediocre...nice salmon and good taste to the yellow curry but doesn't make up for burnt & raw food. All 6 of us didn't like the chocolate "foundue" cake at the end either What's more, the organisation of the waiters were so terrible; none of them are attentive. I let the waiter know about my food and he removed it, and I had to ask another waiter what was happening after 20 mins of waiting for an update. I was asked by another 2 wait staff seeming confused and I had to explain the situation again every time. This really took away from the whole experience... What's more they seemed to have lost my food I had returned as they asked to show them the bad food which had been taken away then proceeded to take away my friends rice without asking him if he had finished. I was so incredibly hungry by this point as 1 hour passed and we were the last ones left. I never got a replacement for my food and left still very hungry despite 6 courses. Received a cocktail from the manager but still did not get rid of the bad taste in my mouth as they only removed service charge from our bill and I still had to pay for the food I did not eat, even when specifically asking about it. At the end I was so tired of it all and hungry, I just paid and left to get out of there Would not recommend.
Great night with really talented acts! We got a great deal with Virgin Experiences but cocktails and prosecco we reasonably priced especially for Central London. Our waiter Marc was great - really attentive and gave great recommendations. Food was also amazing - enjoyed the chicken and black cod mains - would definitely come back again!
