Amazing experience.. I went signed in as guest as its a members club .VERY friendly staff and it's a very closed ambiance, it feels super secret, the manager was great, We left for dinner and came back, he recognised us and immediately and a chat, the cocktails are the ones. Delicious and 2 for 1. ... ideal for date night, stop over, or late night night drinks. The crew is absolutely amazing. There was a new girl too and did great
Need to be a member to be able to sit downstairs, however the upper floor is really nice too, with live music as well and overall a great vibe. Cocktails are really nice but the service is a bit slow. Definitely worth to go on happy hour too which is until 8 pm.
Really great venue with cool decor and atmosphere. Was expecting more of a relaxed, "gentleman's club" jazz vibe on a Sunday night but was surprised to have loud old school hip-hop music blarring away with full on grinding guests enjoying themselves. Wasn't bad, just surprising, especially for a small intimate venue. Loved the selection of drinks and the bar staff were fun. Worth checking out for after dinner drinks.
We were the only people seated at the upstairs bar around 6pm - though that's not a bad thing - it just might not be the place if you're looking for busy bar vibes. Our cocktails were well made and good value at the 2 for 1 special they had on Wed-Sunday. EDIT: we returned to this venue and visited the downstairs bar, where the 5 rounds of cocktails we had were much too sweet for our tastes. The upstairs bar is larger, brighter and quieter in the earlier hours of a Friday, while the downstairs bar is smaller. Staff are pretty good at letting you look at either to decide where you want to have drinks.
There's a great atmosphere and the cocktails are brilliant. We didn't have a booking and weren't members but they squeezed us in anyway. Even though it was busy the service was excellent
Went for a cocktail masterclass and we ended up staying on for drinks. Tim & Ewan we’re excellent bar tenders..we learnt a lot! The cocktails were brilliant. Intimate atmosphere in middle of Covent Garden.
Such an amazing night! I had so much fun, we got so many free cocktails and drinks. Jay was so great he made my parents feel so comfortable and brought out different cocktails according to what they liked. The live music was insane, Alice Key was amazing and so funny. One of the best nights I have had. Left d eking so happy having danced and drunk so much haha
If you're looking for a fun night out, look no further than the downstairs bar! We had an incredible fun filled evening here. The staff were friendly and very lively! The cocktails were ok all incredibly sweet though - would love to see some diversity on the menu, but the atmosphere made up for that. The playlist was fabulous too!
Had a reservation for the basement bar to have drinks with a friend. When we arrived they clearly had over reserved the space and had us seated on rickety seats on the bar where quite literally every single server and patron had to bump into us to move anywhere. One of the staff offered to take us upstairs instead. We were there during happy hour where the drinks were 2-4-1 and were pretty decent. Unfortunately, they randomly gave us the bill and said we had to leave, then the man at the door came up to us and said he would “do us a favour” and let us stay if we paid £10. When we said no, he said, “okay….bye then”. Very inappropriate.
I feel so sad writing a bad review after visiting the Covent Garden Social Club numerous times without any problems and also introducing lots of my friends to this bar, after it being recommend to myself. After having dinner this evening nearby, my friend and I thought we’d walk to the social club to catch the end of happy hour. When we arrived, we were asked if we were members, genuinely surprised, I asked ‘oh do you need to be a member, I’ve been here so many times?’. The guy on the door then walked away from us and back into the bar. My friend and I stood there under the impression he was getting us what we needed to join. After making eye contact with the barman, who started walking towards us, he was intercepted by the other guy on the door and told ‘we’d been dealt with’. It was then very clear that he had no intention of coming back to us and that he had simply walked away from us mid conversation. Not at any point did he ask us if we wanted to join or try to accommodate us, instead he was extremely rude. After stopping the second guy from coming over to us, he just called back and said ‘not tonight ladies’. I would have maybe understood the need to turn us away not his rudeness, if the bar was busy but in fact it was really quite quiet given the fact it was a Tuesday. I now feel like I wouldn’t want to return to this bar, which is a bloody shame because I love your Strawberry daiquiri jam jars I honestly left feeling so shocked.
