A wonderful Indian restaurant. Alcohol free Responsibility priced Free parking Friendly staff
The food and service at this restaurant is excellent. Good quality food at reasonable prices and very large portions. Also you can take your own alcoholic drinks. Soft drinks are available. I like Lamb Bhuna and chicken dhansak but all dishes are tasty. I've been eating this type of food for over 60 years. Best food in the area. Worth a visit . Vegetarian options: Really tasty fish and prawn dishes. Excellent vegetable dishes and pulses. I always have Bombay potatoes and mixed vegetable side dishes Parking: Directly outside the restaurant Kid-friendliness: Children always welcome and looked after.Even the unruly ones. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access into the restaurant. But no toilets downstairs
A perfectly acceptable meal with courteous table service. A reasonable price but bear in mind the restaurant does not have a licence to serve alcohol but they were happy for us to bring our own. We had the place to ourselves. The dining area was comfortable enough but lacks atmosphere. Parking: Parking right outside the restaurant.
Hugely enjoyable meal with excellent service. Four of us chose Cinnamon Specials, all wonderful and tasty. Hats off to the Chef. We remembered to take our own beers. Thank you to the team, we look forward to seeing you again soon. Recommend booking ahead. END OF JULY UPDATE: RESTAURANT NOW CLOSED
Telephone just goes to voicemail, and on visiting the premises are locked. There's still a menu on the window by the door but no other signs. Both the salon and the hairdresser to the right, say that the owners have left mid-July and that the Indian is now permanently closed.
Staff are engaging. Food was really good. No alcohol served but you can bring your own which we didn't know. Worth the visit. Don't be put off by the fact it's usually empty during the week. They mostly do take out.
Very good food indeed. All three stars ! No alcohol served but you can bring your own. Staff totally lack character and interaction with the guests. A real shame as this lack of interaction levels a cold atmosphere. With such great food, some friendly staff would make this a 5 star.
Excellent food . This is proper traditional food just how I like it . I have read comments that the building does this place no justice. That's correct as when i saw this place from the outside I was a bit unsure as well however trust me don't let that put you off as the food is amazing . We had chicken dish lamb dish rice mix grill and all were spot on . All I would say is don't be put off but the outside of the restaurant just give it a try. It has a hygiene 4 star rating which is also reassuring Service was also good .
Some very nice food, well cooked and carefully spiced. Somewhat sweeter and milder than my personal taste but certainly not a mark down for that. The service whether due to a busy night, covid restrictions or the change in ownership.. was not up to the quality of previous visits. I have frequented the C.Bay many times as is geographically equal for the curry club I am part of. I hope to see it return as a firm favourite for us. 4* for the food, 2* for that night's device, evening out for an overall 3* experience.
After using this restaurant since we moved to Hamble 6 years ago and could not fault it - I am saddened to say since the owner died the food has gone downhill - I let it go the last time we had a bad meal but the same has happened again so I feel the need to post - both my partner and I felt the food was not upto it’s usual standard infact I threw mine in the bin. I had a dupiaza it was dry and apart from sour taste I couldn’t taste anything else.-my partner had a biriani the was dry ad tasteless too. Im sorry for this review but unless people give their honest opinion you don’t know anything is wrong .
