A cheap and cheerful market with lots of secondhand goods, food and bricabrack. Went for a cheap pair of shorts and paid £3. Can’t do better than that!
Is not a place for serious purchase, many low end goods, some fakes. Nothing serious, good to see but wont recommend buyinh anything serious.
Church Street Market is an open-air market located on Church Street on Edgware Road, 5 min walk from the Edgware Road underground train station. It's a very busy cheap market where you can find almost anything you need for your house groceries, such as fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, chicken, clothes, kitchen and home accessories. It's a place for affordable fresh products where you can bargain for better and lower prices. The best time to visit is early Saturday morning, but of course, the market is open the whole week till 6 PM. Most of the shops/stalls accept CASH Only, so remember to have some cash with you when you are planning a visit. Always check the quality of the goods by yourself. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants which serve food, so no worries if you want to eat while you are doing your shopping.
I am a bit of an old romantic when it comes to street markets. To be totally honest I was in church street on a wet weekday afternoon. And there wasn't very much to write home about. The market normally has its best show on Saturday morning to midday. Don't get me wrong though there's still a canny bargain to be haggled for. There are plenty of household goods and penny bazaar shops in the area. Each with its own special reputation for special offers. Perhaps the Church street market has lost a little bit of its special reputation over the years. But I still don't see that it is a reason to unfairly criticize or condemn it.
"Church Street Market is a bustling and affordable market where you can find almost anything you can imagine at the lowest prices. Don't forget to bargain, and visiting earlier in the morning is better for shopping, allowing you to choose fresh vegetables, fruits, and fish. Most shops only accept cash, so be sure to have some with you when planning your visit. While there are plenty of cafes and food-to-go options, I haven't seen any toilets!"
Cheap goods, though some of the goods might be dodgy. Always haggle the price, as that is what open air markets are for. Shops are not open constantly, sometimes a shop is open and sometimes it is not. Always check the quality of the goods by yourself. There is a good meat seller that uses his van to sell here. The place at times is quite dirty and smelly.
This market stall sells the best fish and square bread. Delicious! Very busy and staff are a bit abrupt due to space limitation etc., Food cannot be faulted.
Really good authentic middle eastern bazaar. Enjoyed the mere hours had there. Besure to experience the local library; great outdoor tables with chairs.
This is the place to go on a Saturday if you are looking for a bargain. I picked up a Ted Baker suit worth 400 for 50 quid. Other designer and high street clothes are often on sale for very good ‘can’t go wrong’ prices. You do have to have an eye for these things while looking around. But if you do, you should be able to find some great gems. It’s a great morning or afternoon out as it’s just off busy Edgware Road. There are food stalls to get falafel, kebab or paella. There’s traditional Arab cafes dotted around selling fresh bread and tea. There’s also stalls selling fresh produce, toys and other stuff. If you have never visited and love a market, it’s worth popping by. Saturday is the best day to come. Other days in the week it’s only food produce for sale.
Wide collection of clothes, bags, shoes, restaurants, fruits, vegetables ,and most things you can think of. Located in walking distance from Marble Arch about 15 -20 minutes.
