Had a great time at Cars & Coffee Liverpool, great atmosphere, great cars, and some lovely people. Had the coffee and buns special that was very nice, and it's all for a good cause with fundraising for charity.Food: 5/5
Our dim sum experience in the UK was unique! The Ha kau shrimp dumplings, Siu Mai pork dumplings, and Char Siu Bao BBQ pork bun were bursting with delicious, authentic flavours that took us back to the beautiful dim sum we cherished in Hong Kong. We even ventured to try a vegetarian dish and were pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was. The staff were amiable and made us feel right at home. We're eagerly looking forward to returning for a more delightful dim sum.
This place is stunning with views over River Mersey. On a hot day, which it was, I am not sure the staff turned on the AC. Although they said they did. It's not the first time they are experiencing this, I am sure. So an upgrade to the AC would have gained 2 extra stars for atmosphere. Food is amazing. The USP is the view over River Mersey! You cannot beat that. Good car park space. Parking: Plenty of car park space and is free. Wheelchair accessibility: Has wheel chair access including lifts between floors.
Average food for the price, not usually a negative reviewer but got to call it as I see it, might have been the function room for 90 -100 people but quality was not as experienced in lower dining area and being barked at for cash rather than card was a nice experience!?! I handed over my £5 note for my lemonade and was surprised when there was no change!!! The most expensive lemonade I've ever had, not sure if that made it taste better but it was nice. Must be hard catering for so many but for the £££ it cost... there's better. Wheelchair accessibility: Good access, lift works.
Lovely place for dim sum. Food was good quality, good size portions. View is stunning. Easy recommendation.Food: 4/5
Food was tasty but had to tell the waiter he had forgotten one of the main courses. We had to order more rice because the 1st one went cold due to waiting for the squid to be cooked and brought out. Service could have been swifter and one of the younger members of staff basically sits around all night, either on his laptop or bending the ear of customers for far too long. No exaggeration, he was talking to the couple next to us for 40 minutes. He carried on gabbing even when their food was brought out. Finally, the restaurant had the cheek to put a 10% service charge on the bill too. I don't think so! We told them to take it off under the circumstances, which they did.
Chung Ku's location is a dichotomy. It is located in a seemingly insalubrious end of town and yet beautifully located right by the Mersey. Once you are in, you are faced with a beautiful, panoramic, celing-to-floor view of River Mersey. There is plenty of parking. The food is delicuous and authentically Cantonese Chinese. You know it is frequented by Chinese people, not only by seeing so many Chinese people there, but by the number of large round tables. That is a big giveaway. We had stir-fry morning glory with garlic; stewed oysters & pork belly; and sizzle plate Chinese-style beef. Unusually, they not only have a dim sum chef, they serve dim sum in the evening, so we couldn't resist ordering a portion of steamed prawn dumplings. Tip....ask for the Chinese menu. That is where all the best food lies. The staff are very friendly, so ask them to help you to expand your horizons and eat like the Chinese.
It’s a Chinese restaurant with dim sum and great sea view. Dim Sum are very good, well over those in China town for most of the choices. Unfortunately the rice is just normal. So if you are going to here for dim sum, you will not get upset. Service is a normal, but maybe the restaurant does not have enough manpower. If you need to refill the teapot, you will expect to wait for 5 minutes.
All the food came on time. The location is amazing. Full panoramic mersey views. Good portions of food. Drinks and food are expensive but high quality and filling. Staff are friendly and the food arrived perfectly on time.Food: 5/5
Horrendously overpriced. I have been scammed, there is no justification for the prices they charge. The food was disgusting too, any local chippy makes better Chinese food for a fraction of the cost here. Stay away from this place.Food: 1/5
