New Park is one of the few truly independent cinemas left in England, and worth supporting for that reason alone. However, it shows a great variety of films and theatre-to-screen productions, encompassing foreign films, blockbusters, old films, and its film festival each summer. It is a really pleasant experience to go and watch a film at New Park, being able to enjoy a glass of wine in the auditorium in comfortable seats. For the most part you can watch the films uninterrupted by chewing, popcorn eating, sweet bag rustling etc. Most patrons also observe the polite request to remain in their seats until the initial credits have rolled. The difference between watching a film at New Park and in a standard multiplex is so great, that in the 8 years since I moved to Chichester I have only been to a multiplex twice (and regretted it each time). The final benefit at New Park is that not only do prices compare very favourably with standard cinemas, but with annual membership they are even cheaper.

A fantastic little old fashioned Cinema run by a small but professional staff and a cafeteria.

Great atmosphere and they had the excellent Churchill film we really wanted to see. Staff were quick to quieten couple who had clearly come for a chat rather than to see a movie.

This is a small homely cinema, with good parking but shared with the whole centre. The screens are digital and good quality. Be aware that the front row seats are not triers and the back row is quite high. Also you will need cash if you want to buy a snack or drink while there, however they do except cards in the ticket office. The toilets are a bit of a walk away from the screen so make sure you go before you sit down. Wheelchairs are welcome and the volunteer staff are great. Thumbs up if you found this helpful!
