Lush zoo and loved how close you can get to the animals, wish they'd publicise the feeding times for the big cats as they were either sleeping or hiding. Chimps and elephants were entertaining. Bit pricey on the entrance fee for what you can get at other zoos but it does go towards the animals upkeep. Wish the shop had an adult section that did fridge magnets, pens and pin badges so didn't buy anything in there. Download the app and work out where you wanna go first
Went to Chester Zoo Lanterns, has become a yearly visit with the children and we all look forward to going! Magical evening and never disappoints. Keep up the great work each and every one of the staff there and see you in the New Year! Merry Christmas to you all!
A bit disappointed in truth, just like someone else said on his way out. Shows all done by midday, most of the animals were not out, not the zoo's fault, I hope not well sign posted inside. £6 for parking IS a 100% rip off consideration not much choice if you're not a local - just to park on some grass area.
Fantastic Zoo, well kept. Beautiful healthy animals. Lots to see & do. Great facilities and helpful staff. Would recommend. Looking forward to visiting again.
I can't get too excited about a car park in all fairness, but the one that serves Chester Zoo is large, flat, well laid out and staffed at all times in my experience. Wheelchair accessible and clear pedestrian walkways. What else can one say. Imagine a big car park. Imagine it next to a great zoo, and there you have it.
Used the park and ride which is always a great way that's not expensive to travel into chester. Yesterday there were plenty of spaces to park and it didn't appear that many had used the P+R to travel. Buses are very regular. Payment by cash, card or phone. Easy to use too.
If disabled, it's a 2 day visit on the wrong mobility scooter. £25 refundable deposit for for the use of one of the parks. Not many of the drinks outlets were open this time of year. Most of the staff were fantastic & the keepers were top knotch.
Lovely day out, wasn't too busy. There were one systems in place in certain areas, unfortunately some signs were not very clear and the public were walking against the flow of traffic. We spent 5 hours and still we didn't finish seeing all the animals in their inhabitat. Lovely to see the animals were well looked after during the lockdown. Some areas were a little overgrown but you could see work getting carried out while we walked around before the half term.
Each time we visit it's rare to see any animals, you might be lucky to see one in each enclosure and I mean lucky. In addition there's extensive building work so you see even less. This is for the next two years. Q. What's the point of having a zoo if you can't see the animals especially when it's so expensive to go in. Disappointing.
Traffic flow during peak time very well managed by zoo staffs, highly arranged car park.
