Absolutely faultless. Beef, lamb, turkey sunday roast. Roasties, vegetables perfectly cooked and to top it off with succulent gravy the puds are wonderful. The staff are amazing, many thanks to the chef Would definitely recommend highly 10 out of 10 for me........
Nice village setting, lots of outdoor seating. Pie and burgers were nice but a bit pricey. £45 for food, 3 pints of lager and a coffee.
Fantastic country pub. Great selection of beers. We only had sandwiches and chips which were great, Sunday lunch looked good. Sunny day sitting outside was really enjoyable. Staff and service first class.
I got recommended to try Chequers Inn from a friend and I'm so glad I did. Set in such a beautiful village, this pub provided the BEST Sunday roast I've ever had out. Insane quality food and every course was consistently fresh and beautiful. Not the cheapest but it's not an issue when the quality is this good!! The beer choice is also great. Cannot wait to return!! The only negative was I was with one other person and the table for two was just too small, and you're nearly touching elbows with the table next to you, surrounding tables just having a drink and crisps that have kids running about are right beside you so not the best when eating a nice meal, but I understand the rooms are small so it's difficult. I'm hoping when I return with more people we'll have a bigger table. The pub cat is also lovely Edit: Having to remove a star due to enquiring to get a table again here, specifically requested to be seated upstairs again as it's quiet compared to downstairs where I've had kids running around my table and dogs, staff declined being able to use it as they're not busy enough to use it as an overflow.. therefore won't take my booking at all.. very strange, which is a shame as I love it here for it's food.
Lovely little country pub. The food portions are very generous and quite delish too. We had a sandwich each and shared some chips..on reflection we could have shared the sandwich too...all of it tasted really good. If we're in these neck of the woods again we will definitely stop here for a bite to eat.
What a fantastic little place this is. Food, although we didn't sample, looked great. Staff were wonderfully friendly and very quick to help. The pub has a cat called boots which was the star attraction for me. Although, nice wines and good selection of beers. I don't have a bad word to say about this place it was lovely and I will certainly return.
Solid traditional country pub, nice outdoor area, food was ok, nice Yorkshire puddings definitely nicely made. Roast dinner was fine nicely slow cooked lamb, the owner should maybe consider more additional side options as it was just a bowl of mixed greens, no carrots, parsnips or cauli cheese at supplement to make it a bit more interesting. No condiment offering to the roast either so this should be considered. Main criticism would be mixup with dietary request which could have led to a bad reaction if not noticed, despite being indicated to the staff and also not bringing out correct number of starters despite being pre-ordered. Just needs to be slightly more attentive with the details and basics to get to a 4.
Wonderful food in a beautiful village setting... Perfect as part of a walk or just for lunch. Vegetarian, vegan and GF options and dog-friendly with open and covered outdoor seating.
Beautiful gardens and cosy pub. The food is excellent. We have been many times. It’s dog friendly. A lovely country pub.
Loved it. Lovely sunny afternoon spent with my daughter in the gorgeous beer garden eating delicious food. The pub itself is a lovely old inn with little rooms and open fires. Outside , different areas where you can sit in the shade or in a lovely sunny quaint garden. Also a pet friendly place. Several dogs there also enjoying the sun and complimentary water. In a lovely village for walking around Definitely go again.
