No frills, clean, comfortable and welcoming. TV randomly turned itself on twice in the night. Window wouldn’t shut fully. Shower flow poor and thermostat stuck on red hot. Option for breakfast would’ve been good. We had friends who would also have stayed if breakfast was offered. But for the money and overall experience we would stay again. Issues mentioned could be easily fixed.
Inlaws stayed here when up to visit , rooms small n need updating . Beds squeaky n uncomfortable n can hear all noise from guests above they hardly slept at all at 80 pound a night they wouldnt stay again.looked nice in phtotos so disappointed and annoyed .Rooms: 2/5
We have started going here for the Tuesday night quiz and we love it. Landlady does a great job.Rooms: 5/5
Stayed overnight on Saturday 5th March, with a bunch of old Forces mates. The staff were quite simply amazing, just lovely lovely people who couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms were comfortable and warm, plenty of brew making things and a tele. What more do you need. We went to the cafe over the road for b’fast. Had a curry night before at Safron night before which was excellent as well. All in all, great place, great beer, superb staff and I will certainly book and stay again.
Booked a table for Sunday lunch for 4. Warm welcome when we entered the pub. Fixed Sunday lunch menu either 2 or 3 courses that are really well priced. Food was excellent, in particular I had theSteak and ale pie which is home made. Meals came in good time and no pressure from anyone to vacate table when we had finished our meal. Will definitely go again and try another night of the week.
Friendly atmosphere lovely fresh cooked food, fully recommend when in the area. It was steak Thursday so I had the Sirloin. Had booked night stay direct 1hr before arriving, saved on paying middle men, well worth the little effort in reading reviews nice relaxing stay.
First visit, hoping to find a nice old traditional pub, unfortunately it's a sports bar, so a bit disappointing for us. Two screens in the tap room - one football but happily no sound, the other music . . . but not satisfied with the other screens in other parts of the pub showing football they changed the music one to football as well. Great. Football all round. I guess it's personal taste, so if you like football/sport blaring out while you enjoy a pint you'll probably like it here. We were disappointed in The Oddfellows, and suffice to say won't be returning for drinks or food.
I visited the Oddfellows Arms with my wife to have a meal at tea time. I use the Oddfellows on occasions for a tea time tipple, it's a very good pub and good staff always feels comfortable, never had a meal there, but often looked at the menu on boards where I normally sit and they always looked inviting. Well I must say the food we had was just 10 out 10. I had belly pork and boy was it good, my wife had a vegetarian dish and she loved it. Will certainly be eating there again, the service was also very good. Bar staff and the waitress were excellent.
What a lovely place. Dont expect 5 star because you are not paying that. For a comfortable clean room with so many amenities within a short walk....just brilliant. Darren and Magie are super hosts of the attached pub and I will be using there services again very soon Highly recommended.
Visited yesterday for drinks but the smell of the food was so good we ordered four meals. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and the young ladies who were working were a joy, so polite and friendly, we had a really lovely relaxed night out. Will definitely be returning.
