Just had fish masala on 23/8/24.It was a collection order I have received a plastic film in my food. The photo is attached . I have visited several times to chennai dosa and its the first time i had this bad experience. Luckily i found out from the box otherwise it should have gone to my stomach which should have lead to lot of trouble. This is really poor hygiene management from the staffs. When i reported , the waiter told they can provide discount when i place next order. The truth is im not gonna visit again and wont suggest ever. I will report to the council.
Been going here several times. Drive 1h each way to get here. Worth the drive for me. Breakfast buffet is £12.50 now includes unlimited idly, vada, bhajji, payasam, plain uthappam, onion uthappam, plain dosa, masala dosa, poori bhaji, pongal, veg upma, excellent sambhar, excellent coconut chutney, mint chutney, garlic chutney. Not a posh place but it's clean with polite and attentive staff. Clean toilet. Free parking is on street on nearby streets but not next to it. Petrol station is right opp. South Indian coffee is extra. 1000 to 1230 Saturday Sunday breakfast buffet is excellent. The sea food dishes are excellent on the regular & daily specials menu on the board. Vegetarian options: Saturday Sunday breakfast unlimited veg buffet is excellent

We visited Chennai Dosa on February 24th, 2024. It was a busy spot and not fancy, but the food was really tasty. First, we had Poori and Chole Bhatura, and I was happy because they weren't too oily, which is different from other places. We tried Chilli Fried Idly next, but I wasn’t too happy with it. It was too sweet and had a lot of sauce. The dosas were good, especially with the chutneys. The sambar was just okay. We also ordered Parotta and Paneer Butter Masala. The Parotta seemed fresh, not frozen, which was nice. The Paneer Butter Masala was good too, and not too spicy, just how we like it. Even though Chennai Dosa doesn't look fancy, it's a great place for tasty food. Some dishes could be better, but most of what we had was delicious.
The food was excellent and service was good. It was worth of money. Everyone should definitely try this. Nimitha did great service and good customer service. She was excellent in her job and took care of her customer very well. Good job nimitha
I recently revisited Chennai Dosa after a year. We’ve always been a fan of their food when they were initially located at Stretford very many years ago. But after they moved to Northenden, we’ve had mixed experiences and never liked the taste of the food. Here’s my take on their restaurant after my recent unplanned visit for Sunday brunch. *Improved Taste: I noticed that Chennai Dosa has made efforts to enhance their flavors. The food tasted better than my previous visit, which is a positive sign. *Ambience: Unfortunately, the ambience fell short of expectations. The restaurant lacks warmth and could benefit from some interior upgrades. *Service: The staff service needs attention. During my visit, there were delays in taking orders and serving food. *Overall Impression: While the improved taste is commendable, Chennai Dosa still has work to do in terms of ambience and service. If they address these aspects, it could become a top-notch dining spot once again.
The decor and looks of the interior combined with the rush and inadequacy of the waiters really ruins the mood and vibe of the place. The quality of food was ruined by how hectic it is.It was understandable quite busy but clear the waiters have no idea how to do their jobs what so ever. Seating 1 person at a table for 4 and then seating 3 people at a table of 2. This could be seen the throughout. Moving on to the food. Can only be described at subpar at best. We initially had chilli chicken starters which were quite good. But then had to wait another 10 minutes for the other starters so half the table stayed hungry. The dosas were adequate but for the size of the dosa very minimal filling was provided, which can be seen below. My brother ordered the mutton kotthu parrota which did not arrive until the rest of the table were nearly done with their food. The kotthu parrota was inedible. There were multiple egg shells and the parrota was so thin and soggy. More than 70% was left in the pot when we left. I would also like to state we had ask for water 3-4 times before ever getting it.The only plus was the tea and coffee .
I am a regular customer of chennai dosa, northenden. Usually after sunday worship session, we a group of 10-15 people regularly visit chennai dosa, to unlimited buffet till 3pm. The food taste alright not so great and not worst. The service is excellent, especially all south indian workers are truly dedicated to their service. There is plenty of space available. Even if you are more in numbers, they will do the seating arrangements for you. Once again, the service from all the south indian workers are truly appreciable. Parking: You can find a fuel station near to chennai dosa. Just opposite to that fuel station, there is a narrow road. Follow that road, after a hump you can find a spacious parking lot on the left side.
Coming to starters, We ordered chilli chicken and Gobi Manchurian which I didn't like that much as they were too sweet. Next we ordered Idli and Idiyappam which were satisfying. At last we ordered chicken fried rice which was okayish and then ordered mutton biryani which was awesome.
