Story

With the recognition of South Indian food spreading internationally, we would like to bring the DosaXpress “Taste of South India” to Manchester to share the richness of our native country's regional cuisine. Try South Indian dishes with Drinks Wine and beer.

Dosa is a crepe made from rice and black lentils. It is a typical South Indian dish, eaten for breakfast or dinner, and is rich in carbohydrates and protein. It is served traditionally with coconut chutney and a vegetable and lentil broth called sambar. Dosa has been the inspiration for the DosaXpress menu along with other unique dishes not found in typical Indian restaurants. Although South Indian dishes are our specialty, with traditional items such as Dosa, idly, medhu vada,kuli paniyaram,chettinad chicken curry, we also include a variety of other traditional Indian dishes such as chicken tikka masala and chicken jalfrezi.

One of the Best authentic Indian restaurant in Manchester! Very tasty and spicy food.. Chicken fried rice, the best and fresh food in the house, Devil chicken good one to try.. Friendly staff. The only drawback is the place is damn cold..

Very affordable rate.. but starter options was not that good as we ordered panner 65 but it was not like it, it's totally different. But Dosa option and taste was good but be prepared for service as only 2 person are there how manage on all tables.  Parking: On street, free after 6pm.

I would highly recommend DosaXpress!! We started with Hot & Sour chicken soup  which they kindly made specially for us. We also had Dahi Puri, Vada Sambhar, Chicken Sizzler & Chilly coriander masala dosa. Everything was fantastic. We also got complementary chips which was the icing on the cake.

5 stars is based on the food alone. Pani Puri, Chilli Fried Idli, Masala Dosa, Chicken Chettinad curry and Pilau Rice was all on point. Tasty, freshly made, spicy, mouth watering. Staff are fine. They can be slightly elusive at times but you can give them a shout and they'll come straight away. Don't let appearances fool you as when you first walk in it really isn't much to look at but you won't be disappointed, especially as  my food order plus 2 pepsis and a mango lassi came up to only £30 and their portion sizes are generous see pics. A previous review mentioned dirty plates, but I've been there twice now and not had this issue, so maybe a one-off for that person?

The best dosa and chutneys in Manchester! I also had their puri and aloo masala which was just like back home. Really loved the dahi puri. It was such a pleasant surprise to find this tiny establishment that serves up proper South Indian cuisine. The staff were very polite and friendly. Thank you!

Very nice Dosas and Kuttu Parrothas. Must try. Helpful staff. Music is sometime not that great but you can't find any fault with food. Tried a lot of starters and chicken Sizzlers. They were good too.

First time trying a dosa but the staff were lovely and recommended a mysore dosa which was fantastic especially with the dips. Quite an unassuming restaurant but well worth a look in if you want to try some you may have not tried before

The worst service I ever had in UK . I won't recommend this restaurant to anyone . They served the chicken biryani with a small piece of chicken and their explanation was they add 80gms of chicken in biriyani. All the food served was cold . Incase if want to try this restaurant be prepared with patience.If there's chance for a zero star I could have given that .

Good experience all in all, dosas were great, they were refilling our chutneys & sambaar which was just like India so loved that too.chilli fish are too good AND EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE ASWELL   Best treat for South Indians..

Fantastic dinner and such good value! The staff were super friendly and we felt very welcome. We will be back!
