Well maintained spacious park with ample free parking and electric charging points. Lovely walks with some stunning views and information boards of historical interest. Admission to the Manor House is free. There is a cafe, gift shop and toilets close to the Manor House. There is also a play park.
Beautiful grounds and Scottish scenery. Paths and terrain are well maintained. Visitor centre has disabled access, toilets and a cafe. It gets really busy so time your visit either early or late if you can. Sundays 10-4 there is a market with stalls selling local produce and freshly cooked food pizza, bratwurst, burgers etc. Lovely place to walk and enjoy the fresh air not far from the city
Beautiful views and a great choice of walks depending on how much time you have to enjoy the park. The visitors centre feels dated but good for a coffee or hot chocolate on your walk with bins dotted around to get rid of rubbish.
Wonderful woodland walk, stunning scenery with some historical points of interest. Dog friendly environment, the main Chatelherault House has tearoom & restroom and play area available for children
I have visited Chatelherault Country Park many times with my family. It has become a firm favourite for invigorating country walks and family time. It is usually fairly busy but never overcrowded. The actual wooded walks are very relaxing and accessible. I managed to get my youngest comfortably around in a pram. Lots of dog walkers, joggers and the odd cyclist testify this park appeals to all and sundry. The actual country house is open to the public and sometimes hosts educational/community events. Just be aware of the sloping floors for any visitors with mobility issues. There is also a reasonably good cafe. It's not top notch but the hearty soups will warm anyone after being outdoors. The reason I am giving 4 stars as opposed to 5 is the toilet facilities. Whilst the ones there are usually clean and stocked, they could do with more regular checks and a few more stalls. However, I appreciate that the building space is limited and overall, has been planned out very well.
Really great place to cycle round, challenging routes and once you are away from the main visitors center it tends to be very quiet. The house itself is also well worth a visit. The cafe is nice although it does tend to be a little bit busy and hectic at times, but the food is generally worth the wait. Major plus side, the current market being run every Sunday is absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend checking out the fishmongers and the pie stall. There are also Geocaching and Adventure Lab activities to be found here!
The park has kids playing area, coffee shops, trail walking zone of 4+kms, castle and many more. Parking is free. Do visit with your family and friends.
Absolutely beautiful park. Amazing views and a good little play area for kids. The visitor centre is free, has a cafe and is really well kept. Lovely for cycling, photography, walks, and family days out. You could spend all day here.
Such a beautiful place and on a Sunday there is a market which is not to be missed. Market is from 10am to 4pm. The stalls are fabulous xx
Beautiful park with lots of walks to take. The visitor centre and house are very interesting. Lovely views and scenery.
