Story

Central Cars have been operating throughout Thanet for over 30 years. Formerly Anchor Cars and Smiley Cars we merged several years ago to bring you the largest firm in the area. We have offices in Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs and operate 24/7. Our operators are all helpful and friendly and are happy to quote you for any distance or airport.

Quite frankly the most appalling company I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with, booked 2 journeys yesterday 1 to be picked up @ 17.00 from Broadstairs going to Margate. After chasing turned up 25 mins late. Return journey never happened, was booked for 23.30 but never showed up despite several calls and being told half an hour, 5 minutes then at 00.17 received a text telling me my car would be with me shortly it never showed so 00.40 called again only to be told that the job had been cleared ie we had been picked up! Thank you Central for leaving 3 people stranded in Margate. You’re nothing but a bunch of serial liars.
Prebooked online a day in advance, Late by 10mins, phoned controller told only 2 drivers working? & charged £10.50 Broadstairs to Ramsgate, cheaper to pay for all day parking at the station only £4.90 Won’t use again
Train strike day, booked National Express to take us to London we waited nearly 2 hours finally gave in and we were able to book a cab to take us to London to celebrate our 50th Anniversary thank you Central Cars for saving our golden Wedding Anniversary

By far the worst taxi experience of my life. I was told the taxi would arrive in 20 mins. After 40 mins, I tried to call the driver but his number was incorrect. I called the company and they apologised for the delay but I still had to wait a further 15 mins for him to arrive. When i finally got in the car, the driver shouted at me because he had been waiting and looking for me for the past 10 minutes, although he knew i had been waiting for over 50. He said he drove up to call me because there is no signal there. I had been waiting at that same place for the past hour, and not only was he angry at ME, he didn't even apologise for being extremely late. I stopped responding to him and just said where we are going. When we arrived he tried to make small talk with me, as if he hadn't just shouted at me when he was in the wrong. I ended up waiting for over 50 minutes for a drive that lasted 15. Avoid this company, I promise you'll arrive at your destination faster if you walk. Having said this, i understand not every driver is awful but it is the company's responsibility to make sure their drivers act with common human decency.
