Arriva and Bedfordshire council have failed to provide a mid to high quality service. Repeated no shows. Repeated cancellations. Blame it on covid the cost of living, fuel, the Ukraine war, the fact of the matter is you have handed over a contract to a German owned company with no interest in serving the British public. We pay you, our taxes pay for DB Group to provide this ever failing service. It is time for you to absorb Arriva and turn it into a publicly owned company, we do not need them here anymore ruining our communities, making us poorer, making us unhappier. You have also failed the public, you owe it to us to update arriva on road closures and route diversions, s9 why is it in Stotfold we went over a week with busses believing they could not follow their usual route when their route is not disrupted by the Astwick road works, even now, a road closed sign is up, and yet cars will continue to drive through it all day, you can blame the contractor doing the work, but ultimately it is on you to maintain that communication between your constituents and the contractor. It does not seem to matter to yourselves and Arriva that the bus stops are of poor quality, poor advertising of times. It does not seem to matter to you that children and elderly alike are left out in the cold, with minimal shelter across our county, waiting for busses that will never show up. This I'd a failure of your duty to care and as such you are breaching the law, breaching your personal contracts and making a mockery of 'Great' Britain. Absorb Arriva, make it a public service once again, or do not be surprised when the community take it into their own hands to have a complete overhaul of our local councils, there are certainly people willing to fill those positions to work in the public interest.
I have repeatedly reported overgrown bushes and trees to the pathways all along Toddington Rd, Harlington, Dunstable, LU5 6LA which is forcing people to walk into the road way which is very dangerous as the road is narrow with fast moving traffic with blind bends. PLEASE CUT THESE SHRUBS AND TREES BACK
We had a brilliant experience with our covid vaccination here. You arrive at your allotted time and they have an organised system to seat you on order of arrival before being called up for your vaccine. The ladies were so nice and it had a good atmosphere. Everyone wore masks and the windows were all open. Really impressed and would have liked to go here for my second jab, but I’m bringing it forward and they don’t have slots this month.
After deciding to go to the "drop-in" session, the marshal directing the car park forced his own agenda on me, to the point where he stood in my way of getting into the centre, asking me to repeat myself on several occasions to what he'd mandated me to say to gain entry, which came to the point where his colleague had to defuse the situation and take me away. Frankly I won't be returning for my 2nd dose to ANY site because of this interaction. I do not expect to be met with force, especially after the country wide campaign to convince people to take it up willing.
Went for covid vaccine, not prioritising people with appointments and then just randomly calling people out of the seats no order to when they were seated or anything, someone arrived after my husband and left within 15 mins he had to wait nearly an hour even though he had appointment. Poor management and they didn't seem to care when people commented on this.
Highly unimpressed by the fact that central Bedfordshire Council sent out a letter about a noise complaint to my neighbour in error, due to staff incompetence and are refusing point Blank to send an apology letter. The letter sent to my neighbour contained a complaint that I had apparently made. If the staff would actually bother to go back and listen to my phone call they would realise that I have not made this complaint and maybe understand why I am so fuming that this has now been put in a letter and sent to my neighbour and has now caused more problems than we have in the first place. You will be hearing from my solicitor with regards to this matter in due course if this problem is not resolved. I have spent hours on hold trying to get through to the relevant person to deal with this. Staff are rude and continually hang up the phone or don't bother to call me back as promised. Staff are also unclear about the procedures that they follow because every agent that I have spoken to has a different idea about how their procedures should work. I am obviously not the only disgruntled customer judging by the distinct lack of five star reviews for central Bedfordshire Council
Alot of angry people are leaving negative reviews for the council and I don't understand why, I've found the people I've had to contact here to be very pleasant and they seemed to try there best to sort out any issues. Most the services they offer have been overstretched like almost every other local authority in the UK and it shows in some areas, but considering how much money has been cut form the higher government I think central beds has done a good job managing there services compered to other areas
No green space is safe from being turned into houses. They're going up everywhere. Do planning applications just get automatically approved? Is the planning department like the Bruce Almighty "yes to all" scene?
I've just sent an email asking why I did not receive my housing benefit. Had a generated email back saying they will respond within 5 working days. Totally useless. Now I will have to ring and probably spend ages on the phone.
Going out this morning to find that the refuse collection lorry had smashed into our terracotta pot destroying it. It has, had, our christmas lights wrapped around a tree. Tried to contact the council and no one answered. Appalling service. Now I have to buy another pot which will no doubt be destroyed sometime soon in the near future.
