Cat Café

About

Cat Cafe is open every day of the week except Tuesdays.

Story

Cat Café is a new and exciting business chain which opened in Manchester in 2016.

Cat Café is a friendly and relaxed environment where customers can play and interact with cats over a cup of coffee or pot of tea. Patrons pay an entrance fee which allows them to spend time with the cats whilst enjoying unlimited drinks.

It is cosy and comfortable, a home away from home. The perfect escape for busy office workers and tired shoppers.

14 cats live at the café, all of which have been together since kittens. They have been specifically selected for their individual breeds and personalities, allowing customers the chance to interact with cats they wouldn't get to meet on a day to day basis.

Bookings are charged at £12 per hour per person, with all drinks included. Walk in guests are charged at £1 for every 5 minutes per person, again with all drinks included. You are more than welcome to come as a walk in, however please be aware there can occasionally be wait times if we are extremely busy.

We do ask that any children visiting us are aged 10 or over. For more information on our special kids sessions please visit our website at http://catcafe.co.uk/cat-cafe-events/.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Loved it here! There are so many different types of beautiful friendly cats, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. As all drinks are included in the entrance price I had a cappuccino and then an elderflower lemonade, both of which were lovely. I also treated myself and my mum to a slice of their salter caramel chocolate cake which was delicious! The only negative comment that I have is that there were a few too many teenage girls who were just there to take selfies with the cats. So when a cat walked over to me and my mum a few teenagers followed it and crowded it. The staff were very good at making sure people didn’t pick up the cats etc but some of the customers did ruin it a little with the lack of space they gave the animals.

To my surprise, the cats comfort was paramount. With a private escape room, cats interact with customers on their own volition; strict rules on customers behavior are placed to ensure the cats private tendencies are respected throughout. Pedigree bred, cats are specifically selected for their sociability. Working alongside cat rescue charities, a wall is dedicated to finding homes for those needing adoption. A menu - offering unlimited hot/cold drinks with admission fee - catering for all dietary requirements was welcome. However, the admission fee of £1 per person for every 5 minutes stayed quickly escalated into expensive territory. And a single toilet unfortunately created a queue in a narrow corridor. Overall an impressive cat-first, relaxed experience suffering only minor issues.

So much better than I was expecting. Beautiful interior, lovely staff and the drinks are premium style, not at all like the basic coffees and teas that I was expecting as they are free and unlimited. We got some good cat action too. Such a great atmosphere with comfy sofas to relax on and a selection of toys to play with the many cats. Would definitely, definitely, definitely recommend coming here.

A lovely experience. The cats seem very well treated and looked after. Some truly stunning breeds. Very friendly staff who can't wait to tell you all about each cat if asked. It's a bit on the pricey side in my opinion but why not charge that much when people are literally waiting to get in. I'd advise booking ahead of time and also aiming for early slots weekdays 10-11 or 11-12 as the cats will be most active and it won't have gotten as busy as it can. I will say once it gets busy it does feel like the cats get a bit swamped but they can always disappear to put of reach places or their own private area.

Really fun and enjoyable, particularly if you like cats - they're all adorable! Drinks are unlimited for the time you are there which was good, I had a hot chocolate and a caramel latte and both were really nice. Food was extra and I'd just eaten beforehand so I didn't bother with it this time but they looked nice. Sadly I would say my experience was let down by the fact you don't get told when to leave. We arrived 10 minutes late but you still get your full hour you pay for which is alright, so we checked the time and left on time - but they don't end your timer there. So whilst you're getting your items out of the lockers or going to the bathroom before you leave, that counts as time spent. We ended up having to pay £2 for the extra 10 minutes (it was more like 7 but they rounded it up which was irritating) which I would say was a let down of the experience but as a whole it was fun and it was good to try it.
