Leek Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Story

Our Leek Club campsite located in the Staffordshire Moorlands and with the southern Peak District within a stone’s throw will appeal to those campers who enjoy nothing more than a good walk to take in the local area.

Bordered by trees and some sheltered pitches, the site has a good range of facilities including two facility blocks, a small children’s play area and dog walk.

A little north of the campsite the Roaches, a craggy outcrop of rocks, provides a playground for climbers while its miles of paths satisfy seasoned ramblers. The villages of Upper Hulme and Meerbrook populate the area. The latter has a reservoir, Tittesworth, which is within walking distance of Leek campsite. There are pleasant walks around the shores and at the north end bird hides. There is also a Visitors Centre, adventure playground and picnic area.

Another great way to enjoy the local scenery is to take a ride on a train. South of the campsite the Churnet Valley Railway wends its way through beautiful countryside known as Staffordshire’s “Little Switzerland”. Hop on board a steam train at The Foxfield Steam Railway, Stoke-on-Trent, and enjoy a five-and-a-half mile journey through north Staffordshire countryside.

Leek campsite is also well placed to explore the Potteries. Stoke-on-Trent south of the site has several museums and galleries dedicated to the ceramic industry which gave the Potteries its name.

Other days out from the campsite include Alton Towers theme park, Chatsworth House, Blackbrook Zoological Parkand the National Trust’s Ilam Park near Ashbourne.

Ideally located for exploring the beautiful and impressive Peak District, situated close to The Roaches and the Severn Trent / Tittesworth reservoir. As always at C&C sites; spotless facilities, welcoming staff and nice size pitches. Five stars would be applicable is the nearby road wasn't rather noisy. Not a real issue if you have a closed caravan or mobile home but it is a bit of a nuisance if you're in a tent or - like us - in a caravan with a tilted roof and fabric ventilation preventing noise isolation...
Very well kept site. As usual for CCC spotless toilets and showers. Clean areas for washing and laundry. Children's area with swing and slide. Walking distance but better by car due to steep hills to the Roaches and other rocks above. Close to Leek, again better by car due to steep hills. Aldi, Lidl etc close by, plus Wetherspoons. Recommended thoughrally.
Very well kept, good value as a member poor value as non member. Typical facilities for club. Prefer Caravan & Motorhome club sites. Wardens super & helpful, lovely walk to nearby reservoir great cafe otherwise walks limited & overgrown. Must visit Hetty's Tea shop great location by canal lovely shaded walks about 25 minutes drive away. Playground: Small but great for small children Restrooms: Very clean & well kept Dog-friendliness: Well controlled dogs very welcome Picnic area: Small but site pitches generous
An absolutely wonderful site. Wardens so friendly but very busy. Toilet facilities immaculate. Lots of lovely walks to do.
Beautifully maintained site with excellent, clean facilities. The road nearby can be noisy with motorcycles at weekends, but is tolerable at other times. On leash dog walk in adjacent field.
Our first visit to one of the "friendly club" sites. Got to say, the staff were indeed friendly. However, the site itself was basic, not very well laid out, roads are poor and the pitches all seemed to be not terribly level. The shower blocks all need attention and updating. Worst of all in this day and age, no recycling facilities!
Just got back from leek caravan and camping site. Had a lovely weekend, stayed there a couple of years ago, site looked very sad, what a difference this time, site was spotless, very well cared for, toilets very clean. Lovely friendly wardens, so helpful. Margaret Worton
Great little compact site friendly staff good pitches clean toilet and shower blocks. A walk around reservoir not far. Bus stop outside to go to Buxton but check on line timings as only one time to go for stay and return. Walk into leek pathway overgrown. Good pub 10mins walk
Well situated campsite for visiting Leek and lovely walking area. Beautifully maintained campsite, very clean site. Paul and Karen friendly and helpful, nothing is a bother to them. We had 9 Wonderful days there... pitch had the sun all day.
Very pleasant well kept site. Situated off main Leek to Buxton road. Two shower/toilet blocks. Nice and clean but only two showers and toilets 2 ladies and 2 men in each. I had no issues but the site was quiet. Nearest pub The Three Horseshoes a 10 min walk along flat road with narrow pavement . A nice pub but food slightly dearer than average. Lots of walks from site and nearby. A friendly site. We enjoyed our stay.
