Leek Camping and Caravanning Club Site
Our Leek Club campsite located in the Staffordshire Moorlands and with the southern Peak District within a stone’s throw will appeal to those campers who enjoy nothing more than a good walk to take in the local area.
Bordered by trees and some sheltered pitches, the site has a good range of facilities including two facility blocks, a small children’s play area and dog walk.
A little north of the campsite the Roaches, a craggy outcrop of rocks, provides a playground for climbers while its miles of paths satisfy seasoned ramblers. The villages of Upper Hulme and Meerbrook populate the area. The latter has a reservoir, Tittesworth, which is within walking distance of Leek campsite. There are pleasant walks around the shores and at the north end bird hides. There is also a Visitors Centre, adventure playground and picnic area.
Another great way to enjoy the local scenery is to take a ride on a train. South of the campsite the Churnet Valley Railway wends its way through beautiful countryside known as Staffordshire’s “Little Switzerland”. Hop on board a steam train at The Foxfield Steam Railway, Stoke-on-Trent, and enjoy a five-and-a-half mile journey through north Staffordshire countryside.
Leek campsite is also well placed to explore the Potteries. Stoke-on-Trent south of the site has several museums and galleries dedicated to the ceramic industry which gave the Potteries its name.
Other days out from the campsite include Alton Towers theme park, Chatsworth House, Blackbrook Zoological Parkand the National Trust’s Ilam Park near Ashbourne.
