I was so disappointed with this cafe today & will never go back due to the poor customer service. I went with a friend for lunch. We were shown to a table for 6 people as there were no smaller tables available. After 30 mins it got busy & we were told we'd have to share the table with another couple which we weren't really happy to do as it's a small room anyway & we were having a an in-depth conversation. The waitress could tell that we weren't enthused by this suggestion & then preceeded to tell us that everyone always shares, in a less than friendly tone. The owner then came out & made us feel very uncomfortable by questionning our feelings, and then spoke detrimentally about us to the other customers & staff whilst shaking her head!! We felt so uncomfortable that we said we'd pay & leave earlier than planned & that they could have the table. We were made to feel like we were in the wrong by all the staff who gave no apology for any inconvenience. So disappointed - especially for my friend who has been a frequent customer to castaways in the past...but not anymore! Poor poor service, from the owner to all the staff who dealt with us. Such a disappointment. Good service is the expected norm & isn't raved about, but when you have such a poor experience, you go on telling everyone & anyone who will listen months after the incident...
