Have visited a number of times now, always on a Saturday, when it's been fairly busy. Lovely little shop and a reasonable range of food, some items fairly expensive but I don't mind that to support a small business. However each visit we've had to wait such a long time 20-30 mins for quite basic food, such as oatcakes with cheese, and have finished hot drinks before anything has arrived, I've put this down in the past to it being on a Saturday and fairly busy, so haven't popped in on a Saturday for a while. Today we had half an hour to spare before we had to be somewhere else, so decided to call in, at the time of ordering there was only 1 customer and saw 3 staff, ordered 3 drinks and two toasted tea cakes, thinking that would be fairly quick. It took 25 minutes I checked the transaction time on Apple Pay as couldn't quite believe it to get two toasted tea cakes, which then came completely black. They were replaced with fresh ones no quibble when I pointed this out, but despite the staff member asking if I wanted to take them away in tin foil when I explained we'd ran out of time to eat, there was never any apology or explanation offered as to why they took 25 minutes for something that should take 5 mins, when the shop was empty when we arrived, oddly the second set arrived after 5 minutes. This has unfortunately been our experience on every visit, just really slow service and no acknowledgement of this by staff, which would be fine if they explained on ordering this is how long the wait is, as we'd have got something pre-made instead. Great place if you have an hour to kill, but if you're wanting a quick snack or meal it's not ideal, which is a real shame as it's a lovely place with lots of potential. Having worked in various restaurants in the past, I really think there are ways they could work much more efficiently to get food and drinks out quickly, and hope they consider this an option with competitors opening up nearby in the near future.
First time visit as the place was closed due to staff illness the last time I was in the town. Had a cooked breakfast, which was pretty poor just warmed up stuff. I suppose they don't want to fry anything because it's an open kitchen. Coffee was really weak. Nice nik naks though around the place and the toilet was clean.
Great place for a good coffee sometimes a wait for food but decor is pleasant some of the staff need to be able to deal with customers in the right manner to be honest just recently 2 other coffee shops have been opened very close to here so if I owned this cafe I would put staff on a people's skill course and to maintain competition from other outlets I would put loyalty cards in place in order to maintain this business stays open despite the other coffee shops, but I hope the manager will put things right.
Lovely coffee shop - good choice of light meals etc. & friendly helpful staff so I’ll definitely come again when I’m nearby.
Oooh I love this place its quaint and very nice people work there who may be rushed a little but relaxing and chilled otherwise...
50 minute wait for food. Very slow service. Food just warmed up and not freshly cooked. Will not be coming back again.
