The Trust have done a great job reopening a line from Oswestry station to the new Weston Wharf station in Morda. You can take the short return trip on a selection of vintage carriages and enjoy a trip to a brewery bar at the wharf and a railway museum in Oswestry. Really enjoyable experience, the team were all excellent.
Considering the short period of time this line has been operating they've done really well. The staff are very friendly and happy to answer any questions. The station building at Oswestry is impressive and confirms the grandeur of past times. The line is just short of 2 miles. Weston Wharf station at the end of the line has a brewery next door which serves fine ales and bar meal food. All in all well worth a visit for families and railway enthusiasts.
Lovely little gem of a place I never new it existed just saw a sign whilst on a day out and decided to take a look, it’s not funded at all and relies on any donations it’s a little gem and well worth the visit plus they said they are looking for volunteers if your local.
Embrionic heritage railway station and short length of running track. Well worth a visit for the restored station building and tea room inside a restored Mk 1 carriage. Also a small shop. Friendly staff and I had an excellent toasted sandwich for lunch.nThis end of the line will eventually be linked up with the Cambrian Railway station in Oswestry to create a decent length of running line.nGood place to stop for a break on a long journey to North Wales.
Lovely old station being restored and turned into a very good place to visit, the volunteers where very helpful and friendly, you can take a 10 minutes train ride on a heritage train from the station,
