Excellent outdoor play area for kids, ideal for those aged 5-10 years. The play area is free except for the paddling pool which costs £2.60 per ticket and requires advance booking. BOOK EARLY as it gets VERY busy especially during summer weekends. The play area has recently undergone a big renovation and it's now got a wonderful water play area, along with the woodland fort, zip line, trampolines, swings and pirate ship. There's a cafe on site which provides light refreshments and changing rooms for the pool, which are well maintained and always clean. Come for an hour or a whole afternoon!
Lovely location, peaceful and quiet, lots of birds. Booked here to meet up with family. We stayed in a chalet on the edge of the lake. Fantastic time, picnic bench, we brought a little off the ground bbq. Access to the park is a remote gate you are issued with a fob plenty of parking at the side of the chalet, we had 2 cars. The chalet was clean and homely. Good size bedrooms 2, one room a good size double bed, very comfortable, the 2nd room had 2 bunk beds, that were adult size. The kitchen was was equipped, good size fridge and oven and included a microwave. The lounge was spacious, with 2 settees and a table and chairs. Bathroom fair size but thought a bigger sink and more accessible shower cubicle, but plenty of hot water for a shower. Bedding included but take your own towels. I would highly recommend this location for a quiet relaxing getaway. Public toilets Nd a laundrette is very useful. Small necessities at the reception shop. A very warm, friendly welcome, the staff were extremely helpful. Great customer service. I would definitely book there again if I visit the area again.
Perfect for a short walk with or without kids. Good for a dog walk. Picturesque lake with path which goes around it, small coffee and dining spot and playground area for kids. Lots of parking space.
Very nice park, it's been renovated so the cafe, and children's play area are very new. There's ample parking but it will get busy on nice days. The children's play area has a water play area, various climbing areas, adventure play areas for toddlers, young kids, and older kids. There are hammocks, a novel trampoline like mat, spinning platforms, mini climbing walls, slides, swings, etc. There's a snack hut that serves hot drinks, and ice creams, coffee is OK, but not worth the money. The cafe was closed when I visited, as was the paddling pool. There's a lake that you can walk around, though one side is part of a static home park. The only negative is that the parking, which does contain electric charging, is a bit expensive at 1.65 an hour, otherwise it's definitely worth a visit when the weather's nice.
Beautiful reserve and children's play area. We arrived at 12 noon and it was a bit too busy. Though wonderful climbing frames for the kids and all new! Nice cafe and toilet facilities. Parking was £4.95 for 3 hours. Wonderful walk around the lake so bring bread to feed the ducks. A lovely onsite camping ground as well. My daughter loved it and we look forward to going again soon!
A beautiful park with walks around the lake through the woodland, with stopping points offering lovely views across the water through the lakeside vegetation. The renovated tarmac pathway is level and suitable for all users in all weathers and the variety of trees & wildlife is wonderful. All ages will enjoy what the park has to offer, from family fun in the outdoor play area & pool, bird feeding by the lakeside to walks through the season evolving natural environment. Ample car parking on site charged, electric car recharging stations, toilet facilities and a cafe which can be very busy and noisy at certain times! Visits recommended!
Great coffee, nice food, off lead dog-friendly at the park, although dogs can’t go in the cafe. I’ve added the only map we found as there didn’t seem to be any, and the only signposts seemed to be there solely to tell you how close you were to the cafe. The walk around the lake was maybe 1/3 of a mile. Walked on the orange marked map route and it was maybe 2.5-3 miles but will vary depending how much of it you can actually find! Car parking cost was no more than anywhere else.
If you're living locally and you can't go at the beach in the sunny days, this is a nice place for kids with an non deap pool and a big playground for them. Highly recommended !
I've been coming here with my children for the past ten years. Didnt go during covid and was worried it might not survive. So, I was pleased to see some investment into the carpark and play area. Car park did seem a little pricey, but it didn't bother me too much. The lake is beautiful with lots of wild birds. The play area is a good size, which caters for young children and older children. The cafe is nice and clean with friendly staff. It's reasonably priced for coffees, ice creams and snacks.
Lovely place.Very pretty lake to walk around.Nice little cafe to grab a bite to eat and a hot choc.Good Play area for the kiddies with lots to do including water play area.
