Food is out of this world, The best meals Ive had in 2019. Only intended on having lunch here, but the lunch was so tasty I couldn't stop thinking about it on a hike in the area called "the stairway to heaven" so ended up going back for dinner before the long drive back to Waterford. Safe to say the dinner was just as tasty as the lunch. I wouldn't even contemplate eating anywhere else now whenever I am in the area. They have me hook line and sunk. Bula Bus to the workers in the place :D
Came here on a really quiet Monday night but can see it being busy over the weekend would dine here again steak was lovely, cooked well and the chilli butter was a little different.
The food at Cafe Merlot was beautiful. We dropped in for lunch and were impressed with the vintage wine cellar look. The staff were so helpful and I would recommend the Chicken & Ham Tagliatelle.
Excellent food. Recommend pre-theatre menu till 18.30 - 2 courses for 18,90. Starters are lovely.
Absolutely one of the best meals on our vacation thus far!
Brilliant find. Lovely cellar venue. Good friendly staff, superb food, great wine. Probably the best meal I have had out in Northern Ireland this year. I would become a regular if I didn't live 80 miles away. While looking after us they were also tending a booking for 50+ - some doing!
One of the better meals in my life. This is a top quality restaurant, from Kieran's management, professional service, and fine food. Every aspect was perfect, from the creativity of the chef's specials, the flavours of my turbot entree, wine offering, and dessert medley. This establishment deserves its praise. Tip: we went for a Sunday evening meal as Saturday night was booked out; bonus of less noise and a relaxed ambience. Can't wait to return.
I love this restaurant and always recommend it to our guests. I was there last week and, as always, the atmosphere and the staff were 5* but the food was mediocre and the house wine was just awful. I usually go for house wine in good restaurants and rarely have been served 'plonk' but that is what we had in CM. To be fair, after tasting the bottle they did give us another which was a bit better, but still not good enough. The salmon was OK but small and thin and was accompanied by a coquette potato and nothing else. A little garnish would help. I have had the salmon here before and it did resemble the description on the menu. We had the pre theatre menu which I always recommend but not now. I suggests that you look at the quality of house wine. Better not to offer one if this is the only quality that you are prepared to sell. Overall a bill of £65 this food and wine for two in early evening was poor value for money. Obviously if the food and wine were good then it is very good value for 2 courses, coffee and wine. But there lies the fault...... It just wasn't good!
Really disappointed!! Tonight we went and on arrival were promptly given our seats followed by the menu. We were left for quite a while before our orders were taken. Food was presented very well. We were asked if we would like a dessert menu and had a considerable wait for it to arrive. We decided to order desserts and coffees and just as the desserts arrived we were asked by a member of staff to eat as quickly as we could and leave so they could give our table to the next group. In all the places I've eaten I've never been asked to leave, never mind just as a course is served!! Really disappointing end to our meal! If timing is an issue maybe mention this at the start of the meal so it isn't a surprise later!!
Below the oldest tavern in Enniskillen, this is probably the most upscale restaurant in town. The food is good, I'm not sure there's better around here, true international fare, quite good quality. I'm from new York and have difficulty giving 5 stars here: service is a bit slow and the steak, while tasty, was a bit too gristly for 5 stars. Very friendly service but also very inattentive. I don't know the local standard but we did not have better food in Ireland. Wine selection was also good, esp. for out here. Some great local beers in bottles. Second time here the salmon and the risotto were spectacular. Upping it to 5 stars.
