Really nice food, with some good local ingredients. Can be a little slow and disorganised if its busy, so not somewhere if you're in a hurry. However, if you want a leisurely lunch in the middle of a days walking its a good little spot

Very handy for a snack before or after a lake trip or walk. Parking ok if arrive am before crowds otherwise can be a wait?

Lovely cafe, lovely friendly staff, excellent coffee and food. We always call in here, they love dogs, it's light with huge ceilings, very clean, spotless loos, the coffee is possibly the best in the Lakes (clearly a personal take on my usual latte) but what you will get is a very warm, friendly welcome, every time, regardless how busy they may be. On two levels, with wifi throughout, the cafe has a new revised menu for 2018 which even manages to make cauliflower looks appetising, no mean feat! Darren the manager (?) from SA is seemingly never phased, and has a permanent smile as do his team of very friendly staff. While away a wet Monday, a spot of lunch solo or with friends, take your Mac and do some work, put 5 table together and make it a long lunch with wine, it's the perfect place. Never hurried or rushed. It takes some beating and did I mention it's 100m from Derwentwater, 50m from Crow Park, backs on to woodland walks and contiguous with the Theatre by the Lake? Quite a setting.

Decent enough cafe. Cakes looked very appealing, but service wasn't up to scratch. Seemed disorganised and slow. Food was okay, marginally over priced. Jam in the brie sandwich was a bit overpowering. Nice enough, but could be alot better.
