Right, first things first let's put this in to context as I don't often 5 star things. We were on a 3 day kayaking trip on the last weekend of the school summer holidays and this was a planned stop over. My pal capsized about 4 miles before the campsite and was pretty cold and fed up by the time we got there. The staff ( Andy ) was really friendly and helpful. He offered us a pitch right by the launch under a few apple trees and we gladly accepted. We got a fire lit and dried his gear out, we popped down to the bar / shed and ordered a couple of burgers and chips. The food was great and the service was great. Time for a shower and although not the freshest smelling the hot water worked and they were clean. The campsite was busy with families, groups and canoeists and everyone was in good spirits and very friendly. The grass was short and well maintained, the pitches clean and campfires welcome in designated areas. The only downside is the canoe / kayak launch is very steep but what do you expect when camping in a river valley ! Overall I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the site and the helpfulness of all the staff involved. I will definatley be staying here again and hopefully bring my family next time.

A group of us came here to camp. Great facilities with a cafe and well stocked fridges. 2 showers that operate on £1 coins.

Lovely camping in the orchard and good bar/shop on site. Huge camping fields mean that space isn't a problem but would there be pressure on the shower blocks when busy? My main criticism is pricing system which is cheap for a lone adult but actually pretty expensive for a family of four (we were even charged for our 1-year old) and charging £1 for a 5 minute shower which again added to the price.

Nice campsite, but nothing to do. Positives: Nice campsite - there is the main campsite and two other fields. There are showers, toilet block (showers are located within toilet block) and washing up area. There is a small shop on site with some amenities - ice, alcohol, food and they sell hot food sometimes. Kayaking - right on site - owned by another company but convenient. Negatives: There is NOTHING to do and nothing around this campsite. Kayaking is literally the only thing to do. There are no nearby walking/cycling paths. If the campsite is full then the toilets don't flush and the hot water doesn't work! They definitely need to upgrade their system.. They have a rule of quiet time at 9.30 pm that was not enforced (they don't do any walk arounds..). There was a couple next to us that played music until 12:00a until someone else finally shouted at them! Someone started chopping wood at 6:30a as well! The rules need to be enforced as some people do not obviously do not understand camping courtesy. Showers - they make you pay £1 for 5 minutes of shower time. This is good so that people don't hog showers for too long, however, you try to shampoo, conditioner and body wash in 5 minutes! Also there are only 2 female/2 male showers for the entire site. Would be nice to covert to separate shower facilities so you don't have to hear/smell people using the toilets...!

Lovely campsite in an orchard in the river. Open fires are allowed, and there is a small shop selling cider. Mainly families while we stayed, but some small groups, so good atmosphere.
