We were able to get in last minute and so glad we did. GREAT CAMPSITE! Facilities are good, toilet blocks could do with updating, but perfectly fine. The site is very well kept and the pitch sizes are large. The Campsite is right on the River Wye and looks fab in photos. If you book, I'd suggest booking Hereford Canoe Hire via their website too and do a half day £60 trip from the Campsite to Tresseck Campsite, it takes three hours and they bring you back! One night we got a taxi into Hereford, which is only 15 mins away, which was super convenient. The taxi cost around £12. Sunday night quiz at The Rose & Crown greene king pub was great fun. Finally some great local pubs with walking distance 15-20 mins. Local walks in the woods and along the river. A very well located Campsite, with lots to do, very well kept and friendly staff.
Site is beautifully maintained, and localised next to river and many walking paths with breathtaking views. Shop equipped with all you might need/forgot for your camping experience and restaurant have nice and simple menu my wife and I recommend to try fish and chips!! Butter is incredible Unfortunately as for 5 and rosette rated camping facilities are purely equipped. Only hair dryer. We are traveling a lot and have seen camp sites with less and much better equipped, like microwaves and electric cookers or fridges last ones especially in pods and huts for people to store food
Again an enjoyable experience, nice size pitches, park itself beautifully kept , friendly staff, nothing too much trouble for them. Lovely restaurant/ bar facilities and a warm welcome from Helen. Well stocked shop, everything you need, and friendly service. Well done team Lucksall, hopefully see you again soon. Chris and Pam
Immaculate site superbly maintained. Met on arrival, we didn't even get out of our van. Directed to a lovely pitch overlooking the river. Generous size, clean and tidy. If you want peace and quiet, book pitches away from the play area and grass in the centre. Having said that, the staff were quick to stop games at 10pm and toured the site regularly. Two points of access to the river for SUPs and canoes. Nice bar with river side seating too.
Well what can i say, lovely site. Absolutely amazing find, so clean well cared for, brilliant staff and the restaurant was very good value for money and a good menu . Toilets were very clean, probably the best i have ever seen. Will definitely recommend.
Lovely site right next to the Wye. Nice food in the restaurant and a good selection of cider. Friendly atmosphere
Great place. The plot we were on was huge, though there were some that were small. Great access to the river. Nice cafe bar on site. Site staff were so on the ball when people left site, mower was there within 5 min. All staff were great to deal with. Only slight gripe is that play area was noisy, and could do with monitoring after quiet time starts, kids running around with torches not acceptable at 10 pm. Will definitely go again.
Cracking site, clean and tidy facilities are good, staff friendly and helpful some nice views looking over the river, shop/bar/take away on site. Some lovely walks around the area and a nice pub just a 10 minutes walk of site and a short drive to Hereford will be doing back soon.
Just had two fabulous nights at this site. Due to a road closure, we got a little lost on the way, the support from reception guiding us and staying open until we arrived was brilliant! Lovely welcome when we arrived. The site itself, is probably one of the best we've stayed at. Very well manicured and kept grounds. Scenery beautiful and right by the river. Great walks for the dogs both on site and to the next village, in fact very well set up for dogs. A couples of great pubs in the village dog friendly but to be honest, we enjoyed sitting by the river in the sunshine, next to the on-site bar/restaurant/takeaway and enjoying the beer. We had a takeaway too, from the site restaurant, on the first night and very much enjoyed it! The facilities are very clean and available. Staff were friendly, lovely and incredibly accomodating, at all times. Procedures are well in place to make the site safe in these covid times. We were really sad to leave this site, even knowing we had three more sites to visit on this holiday but are very much looking forward to returning and next time ...for a longer stay! Well done Lucksall! 10/10!
Lovely site So clean and friendly Lovely pitches although the riverside ones dont really overlook the river as the banks too high and as they're all grass , do get sodden when lots of rain. Restaurant is really nice , lovely food if a little expensive. Shop sells Essentials. Great walks from site although you need to use the footpaths on the adjacent hill as there's no footpaths. The Moon pub is gorgeous ! Delightful dragon trail through Orchards. Back on site , feels really comfortable , everyone chats and large hard standing pitches. Couple of TINY points that stop it getting 5 stars. Full service pitches could be easily made . The site makes it very clear its one way system yet the wardens fly around on buggies any way they like I witnessed one nearly colliding with a young girl as they were driving fast up the wrong way on one way system Aspart from that Lovely !!
