Story

An amazing family day out – climb the windmill, follow the trails, enjoy the rare vintage vehicles, old schoolroom and village shop, and find out how people lived in Burwell on the edge of the Fens.
Open 11am-5pm (last entry 4pm) Thurs, Sun & Bank Hol Mon from Easter to end of October.

You cannot beat this lovely place for entertaining kids and adults alike! Whether you're from Burwell or not there are so many fascinating items from days gone by to delight and educate... there's a Family Room, cafe and outside seating to make your visit enjoyable. The event/theme days are brilliant, and even on just a normal day you can see and do so much. Superb windmill, too. And we love the old buses, traps, carts and butcher's van!

Really wonderful experience! When you walk up, it looks like the museum is only the windmill and one old barn building, but it is deceptively expansive and comprehensive. We visited with two small children and there was much to keep them engaged. My expectations were completely surpassed and I would be happy to return!

Visited today and had a great time. Staff are very very friendly. Although small plenty today for the afternoon. Our 3 yr old really enjoyed it.
