"Bring the grandparents and the kids to The Burnt Stump in Nottingham, a traditional red-brick real ale pub on the edge of Sherwood Forest. Set within the beautiful Burnt Stump Country Park, we have a big beer garden and a BBQ on the patio for those lazy Summer afternoons. There’s plenty of parking and lots of space for the kids to run around. Bring family and friends for a few drinks and big plates of pub grub. Main meals include all of your pub classics every day, so you don’t need an excuse to treat yourselves!"

Food came out way too quick. Starters are super small and expensive for what you get. Maine came out within a few minutes after finishing our starters which is a red flag. It came out boiling hot like it’s been blasted in a microwave then served. The burger is small. Fits in palm of hand and have a few sad fries. They ran out of garlic bread so they offered to replace it with chips or chips and salad. I asked for just chips and got a salad which I was charged for. Plus the salad was dead and you have big chunks of onion with the root at the bottom. Very disappointing. Had a chocolate cake asked for it warm and it came cold and dry. They also ran out of one pudding as well. It wasn’t even 6pm and they’ve ran out of a few items when the place had only a few people. Wouldn’t bother coming here again. Recommend going to splinters in Arnold instead. Their food is much better quality and it comes correctly and have the food items in.
We've been to celebrate a birthday and pre-cooked the table, the pub is dog friendly. Atmosphere was lovely in the pub and service was friendly and quick. Food was hot and delicious and all 5 meals were eaten in full, 3 meals were the Thursday steak and drink offer. Enjoyed the atmosphere so much we stayed for dessert. Thanks we will be back.
The actual location and pub itself is great, so beautiful to sit out in the sun and super dog friendly. However, the food is absolutely terrible, we ordered two roast chicken dinners, the chicken was bone dry and tasted like it had been cooked the day before. The gravy was so watery and tasted only of rosemary, gross. The veg was old but actually cooked well, not overcooked which was a shock considering the rest of the dinner, it was freezing mind. We asked for horseradish and they brought us tartare sauce and which we put on our plates not knowing. Asked for thicker gravy, they brought out the same one. Honestly the worst roast dinner I’ve ever had, was flabbergasted they didn’t offer us a refund based on the tartare sauce incident. Mashed potatoes were lumpy tasteless and as cold as frosty the snowman. If you want a pint and nothing more with nice views this is your place, the food though, my dogs wouldn’t even eat.
I took the kids to the burnt stump for a low costing dinner. I ordered the food at the bar, and it came out quite quickly. I thought the food was excellent for the price, the chips are some of the best you will get anywhere. My steak was a little bit over cooked, but I don't mind, my 14 year daughter wasn't happy with hers, though. The ice cream sundae's here are worth a visit alone. Parking: There is plenty of parking available here. Kid-friendliness: This is a good place to bring the kids. There is loads of room outside for them to run around and even play ball games.
Great food, genuinely dog-friendly staff, beautiful location and views and perfect after exploring the adjacent country park. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch with our black Labrador who was sitting comfortably beneath our table and was given a refreshing bowl of water to drink. Would definitely recommend!Food: 5/5
Well what can I say? We were welcomed with a smile, asked if we were wanting to eat or just having a drink. We were informed that the kitchen, wasn't going to be operational for about half an hour due to some maintenance. We were happy with this so ordered some drinks and also ordered our food, ready for when the kitchen opened. The food duly arrived, and was really good, a blue steak perfectly cooked. The service was fantastic. The manageress/landlady was really friendly and helpful, all the staff had smiles, and were attentive to our requirements. We will be back with our two furry friends, which we have found out will be very welcome. Thanks Shell and Andy
Went for a walk with our dogs. Decided to stop 2 sit outside for a drink , ended up going in & having lunch was lovely. Husband had fish n chips, I had Sunday lunch really hot & tasty will definitely call in again especially with Dogs being welcome Food: 5/5
Really excellent service and decent food. Our 5 year olds had the roast dinner which was massive and we had the steak and peppercorn sauce which was really nice and flavoursome. Nice relaxed atmosphere and they served Neck Oil which was a bonus. Fantastic price too. I would definitely recommend Burntstump. Great food, great service and value for money. Special mention to Joe our server who was very attentive and friendly. We’ll be back soon
My little dog and I visited here for the first time together. My dog Sienna had turned 10yrs old and I was wanting to take her out for a special treat. I had seen on Facebook that this restaurant allowed dogs inside the dining area! So we packed her little bed and made our way to the Burntstump Inn. Sienna loved the welcome and fuss she got from the staff, and I was pleased to have a good selection to pick for her off a doggy menu!! We put her dog bed on the floor by my table and she happily settled down and waited for her food to arrive. Thanks to the Burntstump Inn I was able to treat my girl to an experience I know she enjoyed, it means a lot to me that I was able to do this with her.
We went for a family meal, and while there, we spoke to the manager about a baby shower for our daughter. She was amazing in helping us sort out a booking for it, really helpful and gave plenty of info but without being pushy. The food was good and the service was fast with friendly staff.Food: 5/5
