Burnbake Forest Lodges and Campsite

About

A woodland family orientated campsite located in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck

Story

Burnbake Campsite is a quiet, secluded site which is situated amongst beautiful woodlands

It is perfect for campers who want a holiday away from the hustle and bustle and are looking for a place to relax and unwind. Children love exploring in the woods whilst their parents can rest with the knowlege that they are safe. We leave it to you to choose where you'd like to pitch - all our pitches are level. Some campers like to position themselves amongst the trees whilst others prefer the grassy areas which have natural divisions offering privacy.

"Burnbake Campsite & Forest Lodges nestles in beautiful, secluded woodland between Corfe Castle and Studland Beach on the stunning Isle of Purbeck. Friendly, relaxing, family campsite with a 'Swallows and Amazons' atmosphere, perfect for walking and cycling with numerous trails on our doorstep and 12 acres of our great outdoors to enjoy. Our 22 architect-designed luxury lodges are fully fitted out for the very best in self catering. Each lodge features a wood burning stove, hot tub spa and all modern appliances. The lodges are open all year round."

Love it love it love it! This is our 3rd time here and definitely not last! We have been in a few places with hot tub, Burnbake is our favourite place for relax, chill. Natural here is incredible, birds around you, forest, sun, starts in the night... . Lodges are quality, very good standard, fireplace in the evening, what else do we need. Hot tub perfect. Amazing!!! Definitely we will book again and again.
Nice site with good facilities. Though camping under trees feels quite precarious. Not sure this is very safe especially when windy. Good shop and snack bar. I would strongly question having a charge to freeze ice blocks. That's out of order. Only 10 electric hook up plots. Which are well worn, with very little grass in under the trees. More hook ups in the field would be good.
Love these lodges. Great location and close to Corfe, Swanage and Wareham. Only downside is our lodge has a few cobwebs and under the sofas look like they have not been cleaned for a LONG time, but other than that a great place to relax.
Lovely visit to Burnbake this weekend, it’s a stunning campsite.. lovely grounds, plenty of space even though it was super busy. You can pretty much pitch where you want which means you can choose sunshine or shade, close to the toilets, or not and tuck yourselves away if you wish. Facilities are good.. clean water and sinks for washing, a nice, clean and large toilet block with unisex options. There is a very small playground but plenty of walks and woodland to explore and trees to climb. The road track is suitable for bikes and there are forest areas with plenty of wildlife. Off the ground fires are allowed which always makes a positive difference and after 10:30 you’re asked to keep the noise down so there was a nice peaceful hum but nothing that would keep the kids awake. There’s a shop that stocked everything you can think of, lockers for your valuables and a super cafe that sold pizzas although we brought our own food so didn’t check it out. The site drops a star as the admin let itself down for us, I would recommend you triple check your booking and confirmation. We had booked two spots in our name and one was cancelled without checking with us.. no problem in the end as there was space but that would have ruined the holiday for our two parties so hoping they’ll tighten up their confirmation emails with clear provisional and paid for comms with a courtesy phone call check if payments aren’t received or they’re unsure of your booking. Will definitely return, it’s ideal for Corfe and for Swanage and surrounding areas.
Great spacious and shady campsite right next to Corfe Castle. Super friendly staff and quick check in. There’s a well stocked shop on site that’s open 8am-8pm and an on-site kiosk that opens for breakfast, pizza on Friday nights and dinner on Saturday. Added bonus on Saturday night was the horse trailer serving bubble waffles and milkshakes. Cycle paths and forest walks a plenty. The only let down was the showers and toilets - filthy floors and a shower button you have to press every 10 seconds for a trickle of scorching or luke warm water.
Lovely well equipped lodges. Very spacious with excellent woodland walks. Clean hot tub and outdoor dining area with a shelf for disposable BBQ. Close to Studland bay, Corfe, Wareham etc Such a shame that it's not monitored after 10pm because some people feel the need to go into the hot tub late at night, and don't realise how sounds travel at night, and are oblivious to the fact that other people have paid for a relaxing break. On this basis, I give it 4 stars.
Nice place. But have a small moan, on our last night we got asked to turn our music down which was absolutely fine as we knew these were the rules oome of of reasone we picked the place but what I don't understand is why the people in the other camping field were able to play club music until 2am on the Saturday night keeping me awake most the night. Also the Charging for freezing ice packs was very over priced I have never had to pay for freezing my ice packs at any other camping site so might be something you need to look into offering for free in the future. The site is nice and the staff were very pleasant but afraid we won't be staying again.
Great family friendly campsite, modern shower and toilet facilities. Also a shop and cafe on site. Open field and wooded area with shade to camp in or explore. Close to tourist sites such as Corfe Castle and Studlands beach.
Love this place the lodges are clean tidy and lovely, the hot tub is amazing so chilled. Staff are great helpful and friendly. The walks round the area are nice.
Only had one night here but was a lovely, family oriented, dog friendly campsite with good amenities. Very enjoyable.
