Rented this 4 person motorhome and it was brilliant. Had only the slightest of issues with this one as we were the first people to use it. The pickup was great, the vehicle drove really well and was amazing to camp in. The only downside is that we just couldn’t find anywhere at all to re fill the gas bottle after checking 5 different places we gave up and just accepted we would just wear the fee. We explained our situation to the staff and they happily covered it for us, amazing!
It was an amazing first experience! Joyous trip. We are glad we took the premium package and no regrets as everthing we required was there. It was our firat time driving a motorhome and though initially a bit anxious driving such a huge ride..it got better over time. John was very helpful and easy to communicate with. Very helpful and friendly staffs as well. Will definitely do it again in summer!
Rented a van from here last month and had a mostly positive experience. The van ran well, and the staff were eager to help and explain things to me, and they were quite honest about which additional quality of life items really should be purchased, and which are more optional. Two small criticisms. I did rent during the busiest time of their year so I'm sure this isn't always true, but they were quite understaffed when I arrived and was waiting for a few hours past my pickup time before I was shown my van. The van itself also had some pretty severe damage bumper and trimming held on by nothing more than duct tape. They explained that this was caused by a previous owner and they didn't have enough time to repair it before I rented the van. It ended up working out okay the wind actually blew off the rear duct-taped bumper and after some trouble I didn't end up responsible for payment there, but I would've felt better about driving it if it hadn't been held together by tape and hope. I do appreciate that when they promised me I wouldn't be financially responsible for paying for the bumper replacement, I was able to appeal the initial bill and saw a refund within a week.nnWord of advice: bring your own bedding. The bedding you can purchase here is fine and works, but each set is a single pillow, a single sheet, and a single duvet. You'll be more comfortable with your own.
A GREAT experience. We traveled around Scotland for 11 days the Ireland for 7 days.nThe roads in Ireland are much nicer smoother and a little wider.nDo not trust the GPS to keep you on the main roads. It likes to take you on short cuts that are single track roads. A bit nerve racking driving a caravan motorhome.nThe caravan performed great. We paid for the extra package and everything we needed was there. Linen, pots, Frying pan, utensils, even a table and 2 chairs.nFuel mileage was also very good.nAll in all a GREAT holiday for sure.
We picked up a camper van at Bunk Campers Edinburg. We were off to a great start with friendly/welcoming staff and ready for a one week roadtrip my wife and I and our 2 young children. Then we only had issues. Unfortunately.nn1/ A non functioning campervan was provided :n- No front light Another vehicle stopped us on the road to kindly inform us that one front light wasn’t workingn- We had no leisure battery the battery was not connected to the vehicule hence no electricity for one weekn- The bedding kits were missing. It was about zero degree at night and my wife and I where travelling with our young children 1 year old and 4 years old. Both got sick after the first night.n- It wasn’t possible to turn on the gaz heater as switching from leisure battery to gas has to be done via an electric control panel the control panel works only if there is a minimum of leisure batterienn2/ Unfortunately, we also had a flat tire. But he vehicle did not have a spare wheel resulting in :n- Waiting 24h on the side of a road with our young children before road assistance could pick us up as they had to order a tire for the camper van.n- Road assistance towed our vehicule to a garage 2H30 opposite to our destination. It took another day to fix the wheel at the garage.n- Road assistance mentioned that they would have been able to simply change the wheel if a spare one was provided with the rental Instead of towing us too the garage, removing the wheel, dismounting the damaged tire, ordering a new tire and mounting the new tire to the wheel.n- During all that time, it was impossible to contact Bunk Camper customer service. They never replied to our calls, messages or emails.nn3/ At the drop off at Bunk Camper Edinburg.nThe manager verbally assured us they would reimbursed the 2 blankets we bought 50GBP, reimburse the bedding kits which were not provided 110GBP, and refund two days of rental 277GBP. And that they will call us back the same day to confirm the transaction. Unfortunately they never did. We followed up everyday, and everyday we were told they would call us back. Again, they never did.nnWe finaly received an email from Go See Travel stating that Bunk Campers would reimburse only the blanket we bought 50GBP and compensate with one day of rental minus tax 114GBP.nnIn the end, we received less than a day of rental as compensation that Bunk Campers estimates fair for:n- Providing a vehicule with no front lightn- No electricity for a week Affecting the interior light, heater and fridgen- Two missing bedding kitsn- No spare wheeln- 24 hours waiting on the side of the roadn- One day at the garage waiting for the repairn- One day looking for a place to buy blanketn- No customer service at alln- Two young children who both got sick after the first night with no blanket and not heater it was ~1 degree at nightnnWe still have hope that Bunk Camper will make this right. But we find it important to inform everyone. If you rent a fully functioning camper van : that’s great. If you get any serious problems, like us, we’re not convinced you’ll get much help. At least that’s what happened for us.nnWe really feel like they let us down.
