Having hiked 13 miles in the surrounding peaks, my friend and I were about ready to eat pretty much anything with calories. We happened to have parked opposite The Bulls Head and decided to give it a try. Well, the service was fantastic, we were found a table very quickly and were served drinks within 10 minutes of being seated they were very busy and the Pale Ale was some of the best I’ve tasted! Having both ordered the Steak and Ale Pie, it was served piping hot and absolutely crammed with meat. The chips and veg were also spot on. Frankly, we genuinely weren’t looking for anything special, but both agreed that was one of the best pub meals we’d eaten! Will definitely pop back when next in the area. Cheers!
Really great pub, we stayed here for a couple of nights, room Was really comfortable and clean, breakfast was really tasty, plenty on offer. Josh the barman was very good always remembering our order and really helpful. Nice one guys. Thank you.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights. Staff are very welcoming and rooms are spacious and clean. Although there was no hot water on the first evening and second evening, we did have hot water in the morning. The guy behind the bar did offer to help but could not resolve, appreciate it is new year eve but hot water is a basic.
The vegan roast tasted nice but £14 for a burger patty with a couple of roast potatoes and some veg is a bit of a joke. On the other hand the service was amazing and the ale is kept well. Lovely atmosphere too so will pick something else next timeService: 5/5
In the end we didn't eat here because we couldn't find anything we wanted to eat for lunch. Literally ever option with chicken was cajun flavoured. Sandwiches, salad, wraps - all cajun flavoured. As I'm not a fan of this flavour, it severally limited the options and we left without ordering.
We booked a table , put into a small snug room , not much room , dressed for occasion , to be then seated by 5 dogs , I have dogs but would like to have been given choice of where to be seated. No atmosphere, no background music in a small room where people didn’t know where to look, weird silent atmosphere and the moretti was disgusting, we left before anyone came to take our order, 20 mins in, and the group of 8 men staring at me and my wife on entering isn’t very accommodating, next time I may head in there with my mates and see if they try and stare me down then‍, shambles of a place
Beautiful location and very welcoming to us and our dog.Extensive and tasty tapas menu and brilliant service.Highly recommended.Rooms: 5/5
Amazing food and atmosphere. A wonderful pub with the best tapas I have had outside of SpainRooms: 4/5
Decent food and a good range on tap. Service a little on the slow side
We had a weekend stay at the Bulls Head recently and what a great weekend. We arrived latish on Friday evening and straight away we were chatting the locals so we dumped our bags in the room and back to the bar for a few beers. The next evening after returning from a long hike we were back in the bar for a beer and some food we decided to try the Tapas menu and wow what a great choice, I lived in Spain for a time and I don't think I ever tasted Tapas as good as these, fantastic, very talented chef who we were told was Scottish. Loved the place would recommend it, worth a visit just for the Tapas!
