The BRÚ House is a decent enough bar space, which is now under the auspices of the Galway Bay Brewery, though few of the GBB's beer offerings are available on draught just yet. The atmosphere is vibrant, and the service responsive. The gents toilet facilities seem rather small for a place this size, however, and whatever about the ladies' facilities.
Lovely venue upstairs. DJ’d at a 21st here. Parking is a pain especially unloading a lot of equipment. Function room is spacious and ideal for private functions. Friendly staff.Atmosphere: 5/5
I love this bar! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of all the beers on sale. It has a wide selection of craft beers, a lovely selection of top end whiskeys and a lovely warm atmosphere. I haven't yet tried their food menu so really can't score it....yet. well worth a visit.Service: 4/5
I was there for the first time and the staff weren't that friendly. My sister ordered a tray of food for 50 euro and what she got wasn't worth half that. All it was, a little tray of finger food. She had to buy two for 100 euro to keep up her birthday celebrations. Not a nice place to be in and no amount of new interior designs in the building matches the character in the room. Avoid all costs.
Super nice. Tasty beer and brilliant serviceFood: 5/5
Ridiculous pub! Waited 20 mins for our drinks. Got the roast beef and it was like meat From a packet…. Dry and rough. Mash was cold. Wings were awful. Never again
Sunday afternoon visit and staff very attentive and saw us to a table. My mum and I looked through menu and ordered. But few minutes later we were told one of the dishes we ordered 'Fisherman's pie' was not available. My mum didnt want burgers, sandwich or salads and menu didn't offer anything else with mash potatoe. I ordered fish and chip with extra mushy pea. Mum ordered soup. We were not drinking so can't comment on beers. In fairness to our waitress she didn't bill us for the soup which was a nice gesture and much appreciated. The chips were great but fish wasn't and I didn't get extra mushy peas aaaawww! So overall great staff, very attentive but food just let us down on this occasion. Sorry no photos.
This place is now the shadow of what it used to be...went for dinner yesterday, very busy and only one waitress. Very nice but completely overwhelmed. My burger was good but my friend's cauliflower wings were no doubt frozen, and the parmesan garlic chips completely tasteless. The staff isn't as nice as it used to be, literally since Bru merged with Galway Bay. I celebrated my birthday there last year with 12 other people, the way we were talked to by one of the waitresses was brutal. It's a shame, it used to be my favourite local under the previous management...now the food, staff and overall management of the place is a joke.
Lovely pub, super friendly staff. Though food was disappointing - neither the BBQ nor the Spicy Wings were really good, wings very small with almost no meat; sauces nothing special - actually the spicy sauce tasted like pure vinegar and BBQ was kind of tasteless. Regular portion consisted out of 6-7 small wings and was 11 Euro. Portionsize is not mentioned on the menu. I have no issue paying 11 Euros for 6-7 wings, but they should at least be tasty and fill my tummy a little bit. Irrespective, it is a nice pub, will come back for drinks but not food.
I got a pint of Helles that was clearly off. I only took one sip and informed the bar tender that something doesn't taste right with my pint. He just said that nobody else complained that night and charged me fully for a different pint. I left the full pint untouched on the bar and he eventually dumped it. Very poor customer experienceService: 1/5
