Fantastic venue, staff were immaculate, professional and friendly, the food was excellent, very tasty. Had good selection of drinks too. A bit pricey compared to surrounding restaurants but to be fair the food was of the highest quality, fresh and well cooked. So if you take into account the food on top of the service and the venues ambience it's very well worth it. Kudos to the team.
Food was a bit less quality than the one I had in Manchester especially the fish and chips. The Chorizo and Sun Dried Tomato Linguine was really nice and good portion size. Fish and Chips could’ve been better in portion and taste. It included a mint sauce which was bland and did not go well with the food at all. The Chorizo and Prawn Starter was really good. However the Asparagus and Exotic Mushroom and Sourdough was a disappointment. It was salty and had a burnt taste. Asparagus was overcooked. Overall the service was poor. Had to wait around to pay a bill because the staff were looking after others. Felt a little let down on how they treat based on what we wear. Feel like we have to dress up and look good for sub restaurants and only then we get exceptional service.
We dined here for my partner’s birthday and from beginning to end Browns Glasgow delivered in spades, from the friendly greeting and the lovely attentive service we enjoyed a delicious lunch which was a feast and was absolutely superb. Jill, our waiting member of staff, was a joy she was so friendly knowledgeable and such a delight she is an absolute credit to Browns and we can’t commend her enough. Jill is so super friendly it’s always nice when someone goes the extra mile to make your dining experience so special and memorable, we look forward to going back for Jill alone she was so lovely and nice. Now, onto the starters we enjoyed the BBQ chicken skewers which were so delicious they were cooked to perfection and were amongst the tastiest of skewers I’ve ever had. Main course was difficult to choose from as it’s quite an extensive menu and we were so glad we settled on the Brown’s Burger which was noting other than sensational. Of course, we ordered a side of onion rings and again these did not disappoint they were made on the premises and were light fluffy and so tasty. The chef and kitchen team should be commended for creating a burger which is amongst the best if not the best I’ve ever tasted and I’m counting numerous restaurants and hotels in New York so that is praise enough. Super tasty the burger patty was so flavorsome and was cooked to perfection. I couldn’t fault anything service exceptional food excellent piping hot and so tasty. Not to mention the delicious wine we had a Chardonnay and again it went down very well indeed. We could not recommend Browns Glasgow highly enough and this is one restaurant that we will include as one of our must go places in the future it was so good. Whether as a treat or a special celebration Browns has got the ambience and has a really nice vibe, combined with an excellent location you feel transported away to an idyllic chilled and relaxed slice of paradise. Keep up the good work look forward to visiting you again soon!
Went on recommendation from a friend, they really enjoyed the food however, on this occasion we found the food shocking. The Sunday Roast was ok but bland, wafer thin beef from Tesco pre cooked! My partner had the prawn linguine, it was inedible. Don’t know what was in it but it had a ton of Salt and pesto from a jar. Service was ok, I’ve had better. All in all we got charged £81 for a well below average lunch with ok service.
First time trying out the breakfast in Brown's this morning and it did not dissapoint! I had the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on sourdough, cooked to perfection, my family members had the full breakfast and another a make your own the staff where happy to accommodate. All loved, my brothers poached eggs where the best he tasted and all gave a 10 plus for their choices. Lattes, flat whites and the pot of tea went down a treat as did the lovely staff from the moment we arrived. The only reason I did not give 5 stars to the service was because we waited a bit too for our food, that been said it was definitely worth the wait.
It was my birthday yesterday and I treated myself for a meal at Browns Restaurant. In all honesty this restaurant is top class! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked a table but I had read the reviews and it ticked all the right boxes for me. All I I wanted was some decent honest British food. On arrival I was shown to my table. Right away a lovely waitress came to ask if I wanted a drink. I don’t drink alcohol but I enjoyed the alcohol free beer they have. I ordered the chicken skewers for starters and sirloin steak on the bone for my main With regular fries, onion rings and peppercorn sauce While I was enjoying my meal I noticed a little card on the table and to my surprise it was a beautiful birthday card from Browns! I was so deeply touched, and they didn’t just stop there, they had another surprise in store for me. They brought me a huge plate with HAPPY BIRTHDAY written on it in caramel sauce with fresh strawberries and a meringue with fresh cream and sugary sprinkles, they even took the time to decorate the plate with real flowers! I couldn’t believe it! I could have cried! I was blown away by the kindness and just how lovely everyone I highly recommend this restaurant. Food is so good and prices are great too. I have been back since then and again food was top notch and it is a great atmosphere to eat and chill out Dietary restrictions: Before I placed my order the waitress asked me if I have any allergies and I don’t and also any preferences Kid-friendliness: I don’t have children but there was a lovely little boy there a toddler with his parents and he was happily playing on the floor and it is a very welcoming place no matter how old you are. I love children and it’s a nice family friendly atmosphere Wheelchair accessibility: Fully wheelchair accessible and I was treated the same as everyone else. When the young man showed me to my table he even asked if I needed the table moved to give me more room and that meant a lot because it’s a big electric wheelchair so yes it was a very good experience and there’s a disabled toilet as well
6/24 This is one of those restaurants that thinks it's better than it actually is. Our experience wasn't helped by the scaffolding inside the front of the building or the kitchen staff behind us hoovering very loudly towards the end of our meal! To start, the five of us shared sourdough bread, olives which were both fine and courgette fritters which were underwhelming. My main of roasted cod was OK without being outstanding. Service was good. Overall definitely overpriced for what we had. Interesting that it was nothing like as busy as the other restaurants we visited in Glasgow during our stay.
Great food and awesome service. Supports the gluten free community with menu and safetyFood: 5/5
Excellent food and service. We were celebrating my friend's 80th birthday and they really made it special from a card on the table to happy birthday being written on her dessert plate. Our waiter, Michael, was excellent and added to the celebration. The food as always was really tasty. Thank youFood: 5/5
Had a lovely time here celebrating our anniversary. Great food, atmosphere and the service was second to none. Our server by the name of Jill was delightful. She was a bundle of laughs and made us feel very welcome. Even took a little photo for us on request which was nice. Will certainly be backFood: 5/5
