Amazing food and atmosphere! The steak pie was absolutely delicious, big portion size as well! My friends also got fish & chips and nachos which were both 10/10! The menu has a good selection of food, the place itself is very cosy with gorgeous interior, really appreciate the music playing in the background as well. Definitely recommend this to anyone who prefers a quieter pub, can’t wait to try more things on the menu!
I love this place! The food was amazing even though I think the pie was a bit small, but still very tasty! It's a very busy place so at some point we had to move tables because the people standing at the bar got very loud and were very close to us. I was a bit disappointed by the vegetables and with the place being that busy we had to wait 45 minutes for food. We also had to change our initial order because a lot of things were not available.
One of the best for a drink in Glasgow and ended up visiting a couple of times. Very friendly staff and good prices recommend for a drink, didn't try the food but the menu looks good too if I had time.
Amazing pub in the city centre. Live music and delicious meals. Ordered medium-rare rib-eye steak and was totally satisfied. Place was quite crowded.
The choices of drink is excellent. The chicken pie is delicious. The staff is nice and polite. The prices are good. Great pub.
Best haggis I've had so far and the Crofter's pie was incredible as well...hearty and fresh! Nice selection of ales, even if I would have loved to see more dark beers.
I would clasify this pub as a traditional one, it sits in a former bank and the interior is astonishing made mainly of wood and marble. They offer british food and many beers. I had a haggis, neaps & tatties with gravy and it was really good. I have tried to Scottish lagers, the second one Innis&Gunn was freshly poured from the tank. Good location, good atmosphere.
Absolutely amazing place with great vibes and kind bartender! All of the drinks were so good and local, yet at a affordable price. Highly recommend this place for those who want the best Scottish experience :
Went in the daytime so it wasn't busy. Lovely stop off point for a drink. They sell 0.0 lager too but recommend an 'Old English'
Visited once again as my husband treated me to lunch on 18/06/2022. It was busy so plenty of atmosphere today. Once again the bar staff were polite if unsmiling but they were busy I must admit, they don't seem to want to make your experience more memorable. We first sat at a table for 2 near a window but directly under a ?brewing vat for beer so quickly moved to another with more room around it. I noticed that unless there are plates on the table there is no disinfection between customers though. We ordered at the bar from their famous pie menu. I opted for the Crofters Shepherdspie, which is lamb done in a red wine gravy topped with haggis/mashed potato. My husband chose the Wild boar/chorizo pie in a thick pastry crust with mashed potato. Both were served with buttered peas/leeks, cabbage and baby carrots. There were also small jugs of gravy as well as an accompaniment. Both pies were served together and as my pie already had a red wine gravy I didn't add any more from the jug. The pie was tasty and the veg was lovely but it's a shame that I didn't have any crispy areas on the topping. My husband's pie came in a very thick pastry case and I tried a little of his meat and it could have been chicken as it was bland and didn't seem to have any strong richness or depth of flavour. The service was fine and the price for 2 meals not drinks was exactly £30. I had to use the toilet facilities after my meal so went down the spiral staircase to the ladies. There are 6 toilets 1 out of order and 2 soap dispensers/hand dryers. Initially they looked clean enough but in the cubicle there is a shelf area above and behind cistern upon which I left my initials and "Dust me" as it certainly needs it, also the air vents are thick with dust. I wonder if it's due to bar staff having to do own housekeeping? I feel that on their website they show that the entrance is "wheelchair friendly " but this would only be true if they had someone to hold the door open for them on entry and exit.
