Central parking although a bit limited to say the least, only 19 spaces with another 3 sealed off and have been for years and years due to land slippage ?nWalk down to the clock tower and beach or cut through to the high street or down the steps to the mill and brewery bar.nGetting a spot is either down to personal luck or patience! We are always lucky here but I see many others having to do a 20 point turn to get out again and look for somewhere else to park.
Tiny car parks, narrow spaces. So near the town and beach but you need to get there quite early in the morning. The town is lovely and very quaint so doesn’t lend itself to having large car parks to accommodate everyone.
Awful prices. If you want a short stay car park then sure, you can use this. But if you actually want to get out and explore the area - something a council should very much try to encourage tourists to do - then it’s awful.nnHow about have decent prices so that local businesses benefit from it?
Don’t park your VW Transporter here. Although it’s not a motorhome, it is over 4.8m 4.9m as I learned afterwards. You will get an £70 fine. Despite the vehicle fitting within the bay with no overhang.nnThere are other car parks up the hill which accommodate vans. Seems like profiteering at the camper conversion market.
we just had room to park our motorhome albeit in a somewhat steep slope,but it was very cheap to park and right on the seafront of the town of Lyme Regis.
