Story

The Marquee is an impressive, modern, purpose built structure, set amidst the stunning backdrop of a unique Grade II* listed building, enveloped within eight acres of greenery close to the heart of Manchester.

With the ability to accommodate banqueting for over 600 people, the option of sectioning-off the marquee into smaller segments for privacy and/or a smaller event is another feature we’re able to offer.

The Marquee will be provisioned to cater for a variety of events all year round – 365 days of the year.
Whether it’s a conference, seminar, wedding, event or party The Marquee is the perfect setting for your special event.

The Marquee is only available for a limited period only and is a new social enterprise project developed by the BMHC in support of its on-going development.

The British Muslim Heritage Centre, formerly known as the GMB National College, is a remarkable institution that holds immense pride for Muslims across the UK. The building itself is an early Gothic Revival masterpiece, exuding a sense of grandeur and historical significance. It was designated a Grade II listed building* on October 3, 19741. The serene surroundings of the center contribute to its majestic ambiance. Visitors can appreciate the calmness and beauty of the area. Recently, I had the pleasure of attending an Islamic event at the center. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the event was well-organized. The center offers meeting and event booking services to cater to various members of the public. Whether it’s a community gathering, educational seminar, or cultural event, they provide a versatile space. The center has gained a reputation as a sought-after wedding venue. Inside the building, you’ll find a mosque—a spiritual hub for prayers and reflection. Additionally, they run a Madrasa for young kids, emphasizing education and community development. The staff, including Khalid, was exceptionally helpful during my visit. Their warm hospitality adds to the overall positive experience. In summary, the British Muslim Heritage Centre stands as a beacon of cultural heritage, community engagement, and inclusivity. Its architectural beauty, serene surroundings, and commitment to serving diverse needs make it a valuable asset for Muslims and the wider community.
I went there in an hour before 5pm. I enjoyed the spot where I can learn the history of Muslim in science. All famous muslim scientists who have a huge contribution explained there. Some of the inventions also have been displayed there.
I visited recently as I was interested in the building. It's a beautiful building but inside there's very little to see. There were a couple of exhibits which were just a series of posters in a room down a hallway. I don't think this is a place to visit if you're looking for a museum, but I can understand why you may want to have an event such as a wedding here. Also the toilets weren't great.
I came here for Jummah Salaah and i was praying when a guy intentionally walked across my path to stop me from praying after Jamaah. He forced me to move to pray outside, even when I'm mid prayer. Awful place to visit for a prayer, especially from travelling from out of town. No wonder Muslims get a bad reputation in this country when someone intimates another worshipper to leave because "he needs to pick up his kids" awful experience, never coming here again. Such a disaster.
Excellent place to visit, and the service is amazing well done
