The quality of the food was close to the ones I had in Hong Kong. The dim sums served were delicious. I was worried about the customer service given the warnings of previous reviews, but I thought it was okay significantly less abrupt than the ones in Hong Kong. However, it is a bit pricey but I guess it’s because it’s a rather exotic cuisine with ingredients imported from far abroad. It’s a good place to stop by to eat as there’s a huge asian supermarket nearby.
Fantastic food and great location and style, hopefully will be returning. The all you can eat options are slightly confusing but after some explanation it all made sense. They never stop offering you food which is great as well
Firstly this place is huge, seating about 300. Unfortunately when we dined here it was empty with only 3 other tables filled. This made for a very subdued atmosphere and with not even any background music playing it felt empty & cavernous. We opted for the buffet menu at £18 per adult & £10 per child. This is not the self serve buffet 5hat you are probably used to, instead you order from a menu and your choices are brought to the table. The portions are very large to allow sharing, however if only one of your party wants a certain dish there is far too much to manage. You do feel obliged to try and finish all the food placed on the table which definitely stops you from trying a lot of the dishes you may like to. This is a shame as there is a good variety on offer. The food was quite disappointing at best with tinder dry chicken & well over cooked rubbery squid. Everything was very dried out & had obviously been sat warming for quite some time. The staff however were fantastic, friendly & attentive. The toilets were quirky & interesting though and worth a visit. I think you would get better value for money if going in a large group instead of a few people.
Can't fault it. Lovely authentic food, staff friendly and attentive without being bothersome. Dim sum is totes TDF. Fantastic meta-absurdist porcelain in the toilets. Water Sky is the only good thing about a trip to IKEA.
Very authentic restaurant, food is delicious and service is very good. Crispy duck was excellent, everything tasted fresh, definitely coming back soon.
Have always wanted to try Water Sky, looks so imposing and the gold lined throne-like toilets are legendary; so decided to go for my 46th birthday. We had fun, but the food and service were disappointing. We had the all you can eat menu, where they serve six dishes to share and once that's gone you can have another six and so on. Round one appetisers, was married by the vegetarian food being on the same plate and mixed with meats. Round two all the food was stone cold. Round three was better because we complained. They don't really do puddings and they are extra anyway. Neither is tea included. Interesting evening, but doubt I'll be back.
The food is real chinese...very tasty and delicious....the service also very friendly.
£10 for a side of boiled broccoli - OUCH! #Broccoligate We had lunch at Water Sky above the Chinese shop in Eastern today and were utterly dismayed when the bill arrived. Whilst the food was nice not outstanding but nice it was very over priced. But what shocked us most was the price of a side of broccoli. £10 for a side of broccoli! We ordered this with our two main meals as a side instead of rice when the waitress prompted us and asked if we wanted rice or side of vegetables good upsell right. So we ordered broccoli to avoid too many carbs. So when the bill came and they had charged us £11.50 for what was boiled broccoli with cold oyster sauce drizzled on top you can imagine our reaction. This can't be right, surely? So when my partner queried the bill, the waiter said sorry - this is the wrong price. Phew. I was ready to cry at the price being on Maternity Leave and all - you could buy 10 whole broccolis for £10! So the waiter brought back another a bill which was £9.95 for the side of broccoli. Seriously. Is he now joking. I could feel my heart beat rising. When we asked the manager about this he said that's how much broccoli was - it wasn't from Tesco - and that everyone pays it. That was that. I have never been so shocked and boy it must be special broccoli to charge such an extortionate price. It must be magical. It was literally 6 florets of broccoli and I wish I'd taken a photo. Had I known how expensive and magical it was - I would have! So if you go - what ever you do - don't order the stir fried broccoli in oyster sauce - not only is not stir fried - it's £10 for the privilege and boiled! GO WITH THE RICE! That's what you get for opting for the healthy option....
Had a really lovely dinner over the Easter weekend with family. Lots of choice on the menu and we were served very quickly lovely freshly cooked food. We noticed that there were several parties of Chinese families eating there also which is a good sign it's an authentic good restaurant. We left stuffed and the waiting staff were very lovely and friendly. I will definitely be returning and this was a recommendation from several friends. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would be happy to say the best Chinese in Bristol.
Very poor experience. This was the second occasion we visited. The first time, the restaurant was bustling and the food was good Dim Sum. The ambience is not great large hall like room and budget furniture and there are concerns regarding cleanliness. The carpet is very dirty in places. The first time we were placed in the area near the entrance, where predominantly Chinese customers ate. The second time we were seated much further inside. The ordered stir-fried noodle dish was lukewarm at best when served, only minutes after ordering!!! The response to the problem was poor from a customer service perspective. Whilst the restaurant has potential, it needs to tidy up its act.
