Excellent food! The new cheaper set menu was great and very filling also had a lovely yuzu cocktail. Brilliant corner with brilliant staff. Also one of the best places in Hackney for a boogie Food: 5/5
We ate at the side room, which felt more intimate, but I would probably choose the main room next time. It felt cosier and more was going on; the tables were ordered around the room in a good distance, lighting was spot on, and a dj was playing lovely jazzy music. I liked the idea of the set menu; there was a lot of food, edamame, sushi rolls, nigiri, salmon tartare and fried chicken kara-age, or aubergine dish for the pescatarian. Oh and great sake!
This place is fab. The server told us they have had some negative reviews and I don’t get it, as our experience last night Monday was delicious and fun. The vibe is great: moody and chill in terms of decor, lighting and the music. The music was at the perfect volume when we arrived at 7- good for talking, even with us seated almost next to the DJ- and the volume increased just slightly as the evening rolled on. Atmospheric vibes were conducive to a conversation which is exactly what we wanted: not having to shout to hear each other. The service was very good. The drinks great: my smash cocktail was potent and lovely: a bit herbal with strong gin flavour, with a touch of sweetness. My husband appreciated his bold whiskey and my friend her orange wine. The serving portions are generous for the price so massive applause there! A very large bowl of padron peppers and fried chicken, and my big bowl of nasu aubergine pleased me with its size, utterly delicious miso flavour, and texture. Likewise my oyster mushrooms. I was perfectly sated after. My friend’s dragon roll was huge!! It’s definitely not cheap but my friend’s work covered half the bill. I would return.
Very cool little bar/restaurant in Dalston with great djs and a solid sound system. Chic design, low lighting, good music, efficient staff and a very simple but pretty pleasing set menu. Worth a visit. Vegetarian options: There is a set menu, vegetarian menu and pescatrian set menu
This place is a great spot for an atmospheric dinner. Staff were super nice - we had an issue with my gift card not being taken off the bill properly and they fixed it with no fuss. Food was excellent quality. Definitely recommend for a little treat out
My first time here, absolutely brill! When arriving, the staff were super friendly and booked to have the set menu. Please visit their website for more details. It's a short walk from Dalston Junction and in the hustle and bustle of this area. I recommend booking a table at 8 pm as you can have the whole eve in there. They have DJs playing records and such a great vibe and mix, and you can see they love it and know thief stuff. When eating, you can see the chefs cooking, which I feel is always a nice touch. The food was super fresh, and the cocktails and drinks list were also reasonably priced. A great vibe overall, and I will be back again. A solid A***** LDT x
What an incredible bar restaurant. Tokyo vibes, delicious food and top notch cocktails. Nathan is a gem of a bartender. Will be visiting on repeat.Food: 5/5
Food was very good. Atmosphere and DJ’s music were great. I am afraid, but service wasn’t. Me and my partner were seated underneath the air conditioning’s fan, which after a while was so cold that became almost uncomfortable to enjoy the set menus we chose. I asked the blonde waitress, who looked very bored, the possibility to move in one of the many empty tables that were around and in a very superficial manner she proposed only a space away from the dining room assuming that anywhere we were moved, it would have been the same situation. Regrettably, for most of the dinner we weren’t looked after, until we asked the bill. The same waitress was very annoyed to the point that she didn’t even say goodbye when we left.
Brilliant Corners is a fun little local with great music, an outstanding sound system, and good food. The waitresses, while very sweet, would often disappear for long periods of time. They seemed very young and inexperienced. Good place to come with friends overall.Food: 5/5
Excellent meal - highly recommend the set menu. The oyster mushrooms were my favorite dish by far. The only strange thing was that they didn’t serve any tea or hot water but other than that it was a great dining experience with excellent food, cool music and a good overall vibe
