Visiting from out of town, I was impressed with the food here. Not my first time eating Nigerian or West African food, it was all delicious. Minor critique of the asun, was that it wasn’t as juicy as I’ve had at other locations, but the flavor was still really good, and spicy. Paired the asun with asaro and sauce and plantains and my spouse got the egusi with efo, beef/tripe and goat. Goat was tender and easily came off the bones. Lawrence, the chef, does an amazing job. Even more a fan that he lets the food speak for itself. Naturally he likes it, but he lets you be the judge. Definitely worth the trip!
The best Nigerian Jollof I’ve had! I highly recommend this place for food from the soul. Will be back with friendsFood: 5/5
I have eaten from this restaurant plenty of times and I have never been disappointed! My favourite Nigerian Food Restaurant, the owner is amazing. 10/10 Customer Service
Travelled to London for some days with my friend and visits this restaurant, the food were so delicious and well presented, the stuff were so nice and friendly. This is the best of all African restaurants that I have been with the best of meals.
DO NOT IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS!! The service was AWFUL. Both staff members were rude and they do false advertising with their menu and prices. 4 starters on the menu and they only had one of them which wasn’t said to us when we walked in or got the menu. It was time to order and they didn’t have any starter we wanted. WORSE is the god awful toilet. It stunk of urine, looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for ages and was disgusting. I cannot imagine how they passed any food hygiene checks. Eat here and get food poisoning!
The service was good although was unsure who was serving me initiallyas the server was sat at the restaurant tables as if eating his own meal with others. The same server went back and forth to the kitchen which got me thinking about cleanliness and hygiene... was it the same person preparing the food also? The food when it arrived was not fresh as the Suya meat was tough as nails. The flavour was fine but what use is flavoursome food you can't eat? Am I to just lick it? The fried yam was hard aswell not sure how you can get such simple starters so wrong. Then the mains arrived and boy this was a bigger disappointment. Ordered Abula and it was not fresh at all, actually could have sworn it was off. Worst Niaja food I've ever eaten. Really big waste of money. Also the toilets were awful, stunk of urine and was unkepemt. Avoid unless you have money to waste or you don't know how to cook real Niaja food as this really was not it. Threw most of the food away as it was inedible.
One of the best restaurant that I’ve ever visited in London! Wasn’t expecting anything even though we saw they have a good rating. The jollof rice is out of the world, very rich tasting. The fish reminds me of home - I am from Indonesia.
I ate Asaroyam porridge. It was fantastic. The portion was great. The reviews helped me find the restaurant when I travelled to London for a visa appointment.Food: 5/5
This was a return visit after awhile. On this occasion the food did not hit the spot. The service was great as usual, attentive and responsive. The amala was fluffy and with no lumps, the ogbono soup this time did not have the taste, flavour and freshness as I know they can deliver. Authentic African food choices.
The chef served us herself, her advice about dishes we would like, and portions , was accurate and invaluable. My sister came to town to try their Egusi soup and she loved it. Well worth the visit. Dietary restrictions: The chef catered to our needs and was careful with what we ate and who we sat next to.
