Brewers Fayre Haywain - Epsom

Story

At Brewers Fayre we've thought of everything. Great value, great food, great family friendly atmosphere; we've got the lot. Our menu is packed full of family favourites all freshly prepared by our trained Chefs. The Haywain is a listed building & used to be a convent - which many of our regular guests used to attend! The building itself is very old & unique - it still has many original features. We're located close to attractions such as Epsom Racecourse, Chessington World of Adventures & Hobbledown Amusement Park, & are proud of our freshly cooked pub food & outstanding service - our team always go the extra mile for our guests.

"At Brewers Fayre, we’re all about serving the nation's favourite pub food at great-value prices, in a family-friendly environment. We want everyone to enjoy tasty, laid-back meals with friendly service that make you want to eat with us again and again. No booking? No problem – our doors are open any time for any occasion. So come on in, take a seat and see what we’ve got cooking."

Really enjoyed myself, nice food. Few mishaps with the orders but there was 6 of us to deal with. Pretty cheap considering the meal quality, will be booking a evening out for me and my partner as it's a nice atmosphere inside and the staff are friendly and accommodating.
It's a good and simple all rounder. Had put Christmas do there and for 13.99 for three courses you can't complain. The place is looking a little tired and drinks are a bit pricey but over all it's a good cheap and easy meet after work spot and is usually quiet. Staff are friendly and approachable.Food: 4/5
I popped in to grab a quick lunch on my own. The service was quick & efficient by a sole staff member who appeared to be ‘running the show’ alongside a GM. They greeted with smiles and I felt very welcome from the get go. The restaurant is very bright & inviting, which helps towards creating the happy atmosphere. I had the Cheeseburger with the Chicken Goujon & Bacon upgrade which was divine, with a side of cheesy garlic flatbread. Highly recommend.
I almost don't want to write this review as i reckon this is the BEST carvery secret about! Really generous plate full, all 3 meats, all veg, crispy roasties!!! good gravy etc etc... 2 adults one kid 2 pints 3 carveries £33! wow.. prob would have given it a 5 star for value and quality, but the building leaves a bit to be desired and the loos were pretty bad. BUUUT excellent service and food and beer.
Our First Visit here. Came here as it was the only place with availability for the 'Eat out to help out'. Further then I normally travel, but worth the time. You are greeted by a very friendly gentleman, who took my car reg for the parking. He showed us to our table and explained how it all works covid 19 rules. Our drinks order was taken quickly and enough time was given for us to choose our meals. When they came the look great. See photos. The food was really good, if I was to be critical, they toast the children's burger bun. This makes it too hard for children the really bite into. My mixed grill was very nice, again if I would to be critical, I asked for a medium steak, I felt it was more medium rare. This is just me, this may be how some people do 'medium' take a look at the photo below and see for your self. Otherwise the chicken was very moist the eggs runny and the sausages juicy. A lovely meal with very friendly staff. Social distancing measures in place and clean. Will be back in the future.
Xmas meal today was excellent and great value. Such a large portion too. We were impressed with prawn cocktail and turkey dinner. Service efficient tooFood: 5/5
It was far too busy and almost everything was unavailable unfortunately, making for an overall unpleasant experience. Didn't have several drinks in stock, then when settled on 2 poured one wrong. Food ordered at bar - so it was manic. Despite not being told until at the bar having chosen from them menu, they said the only option was Carvery - no food from the menu was being served. Chef running the Carvery was very busy so waited a long time for them to serve. The Carvery was pleasant enough, although some of it undercooked. Ordered dessert after queing and paid for it. After 15 mintues someone informed us at our table they didn't have any, so had to queue ages for a refund and left. I wouldn't go back.
Had the most amazing family birthday meal, staff decorated the table, gave birthday cards to the birthday girls we couldn't have been made anymore welcome. The meat was tender, the vegetables perfect and the roasties wow. All incredibly calm and relaxed. Highly recommend a visit and we will return Kid-friendliness: Staff were very accommodating it has a safe outside space too Parking: Loads of spaces just remember to register your vehicle on arrival Wheelchair accessibility: Easy on the level entrance, accessible tables and loo.
14 of us had a evening meal 29th December. They are clearly incredibly understaffed. The meals took so long to come out that some of the party had eaten their meal before the remainder of the meals came to the table. We had to search around on other tables for condiments. After the meal we then had to clear our own plates etc away onto an empty table. We had the pleasure of a very unpleasant lady shouting to us from the bottom of the stairs instead of coming to the table, to inform us the tab needs to be paid for now! She later returned to yawp that we need to go as they were closing. I appreciate they have to close but there are more polite ways of letting people know. Breakfast next morning was just as bad. The cooked breakfast had seen better days, the eggs looked like bullets! Even a delivery chap passed comment saying it didn’t look very appetising. The glasses and cutlery were dirty. The coffee machine didn’t work, you had a choice of black or flat white. The choice of breakfast was abysmal, not as shown on the premier inn menu. The restaurant had about 8 people in it so it was not a case of lots of customers and only one person in charge. The breakfast next morning did improve, slightly but the damage had already been done. They clearly need a lot more staff and not expect one person to run the bar and wait tables at the same time.
Absolutely saved us. We had a childrens party cancelled by the Heathside Bramch and recieved the worst costomer service we had ever been given. The staff there asked we ordered our food a week in advance, talked to us like dirt and put the phone down on me. This place accepted us with open arms and nothing was too much. Thank you. Amazing service :
